sandybahookie - looks good for the photoshop stuff and the OLED screen should help battery life, but FPS games probably not so much, especially if you've got to download Steam onto it as with the photoshop stuff your SSD is going to need an upgrade instantly - uninstalling Steam is a nightmare... add to that integrated graphics and your opponent will have shot you before you even see him shooting. Obvs. netbased browser games should be fine. But crankcaller's your man for this ...

sandybahookieThe question you need to ask yourself is “will this run WinUAE?” The answer is yes to both. Have at it.

Our politics is something to scream about, but at least we don't have the Trump of Doom... I'm not a fan of assassination, but I am astonished no-one's made the attempt:

My Father was a member of the Communist Party, well, for about 2 months in the early '70s. He didn't hang around, because, as he said later, they were "very serious people". He did snag a copy of Mao Tse-Tung's 'Little Red Book'. Which I have read. It's rubbish, don't bother.

I started listening to the podcast, to find out exactly what he said. Definitely muddying my Spotify profile - 'Live from the majestic Mar-a-Lago estate'. There was country music for the intro, and Donald Trump immediately starts boasting. I don't wish him to be assassinated, but I would like him to be eaten by the earth. Swallowed up. Having said that his comments on Putin are taken out of context. When he says 'wonderful' he's clearly being sarcastic.

Somehow he also ended up with a copy Mao Tse-Tung's 'Little Red Book', which I haven't read. It looks rubbish ...

In my youth, I became a member of every party, tried Evangelical christianity; read Scientology, The Koran etc. and The Little Red Book. After throwing myself into all these I realized that any creed, religion that tells you what to do by interpreting the thoughts of a higher authority is at heart flawed... that, and that the Liberals threw the best parties...

Decorator: “amipal, do you have any kitchen roll?” amipal: “No, why?”
Decorator: “Just to clean up some paint spots from your windows.”
My first thought was, if this is something you need to do for your job, why don’t you have any?

Dad was also a member of the Masons for a few years, he didn't talk about it much. When he left to go to a meeting, all he said was, 'I'm off to the Mickey Mouse Club'.
I've often pondered about this statement.

My dad is a member of the masons. A bad business. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was set up by masons, and that's quite interesting. My main experience of them, though, is of ruddy faced burghers from the West Midlands and retired police officers.

My maternal grandfather was a communist and a shop steward in the boiler makers union at the shipyards. Spent a lot of his personal time fighting for people's rights. Like a proper magic grandad.

I need a new laptop for shirking from home, I'll be running photoshop on it, but mainly spreadsheeting and using tinternet. Also for netflix etc. I wouldnt mind being able to games on it but its unlikely to happen. Budget is 500-800 I think. What do 'people' think about this one? I recently got my new laptop from Box, and unless my eyes are playing tricks on me they have exactly the same one for 50 quid less www.box.co.uk/K513EA-L1897T-ASUS-VivoBook-15-OLED-Intel-Core-i7-16GB_3813146.htmlAlso check out their other OLEDs, they have a decent selection.

My paternal grandfather was a 'Communist Fascist', according to my dad. No idea what that's supposed to mean. I liked finding out recently that he had worked in the same Birmingham car parts factory where I had my first (temporary) job. It made me feel like a real working class man, rather than a soft-palmed fop.

My paternal grandfather also spent a lot of time fighting. I think he suffered from what would now be called PTSD from his time in WW2. I don't think he coped with it all that well, not from the stories I have heard.
