I’m listening to Radio 4. Nick Robinson seems to be in Kyiv / Kiev - and genuinely excited about the whole thing.
A part of me wants him to get arrested when the Russians turn up. I don’t want any harm to come to him. Just a day in the big house, then sent back home.

I’m worried that Turkey are going to block a Russian ship into the Black Sea, maybe get into a confrontation, then - boom - NATO are sucked in. Or Russia are going to blow up a convoy, carrying supplies from one of the Baltic states. Then again - it all kicks aff.

Thursday
I was supposed to be meeting a friend for a drink but he couldn't make it because the trains were off. So I went home and replicated a meal I last enjoyed in an Aviemore fish and chip shop: Chips with curry sauce and cheese. Delicious. After that I languished on the sofa, watched rolling news and read about the Suwalki Gap.
That's not strictly true ... I was reading all sorts of doomful content. Really giving myself the heebie-jeebies.
