I have finished S1 of Foundation.
It's ok.
Very portentous and lacking in much humour.
It is SERIOUS Sci-Fi
It's a tiny bit dull as well.
Four stars recommended

I definitely think the cold water makes it. Plus the resting of the batter. I have used similar recipes using only milk. The resultant steam from the added water definitely helps the rise. Try it. I think you'll be surprised. Andy's mam knows. In the interest of science I will do. I have 8 new pudding tins to break in and was planning a some crème caramels tomorrow, but could spare a couple for a batter-off. Agree with the resting. 30 mins minimum.a What's your Crème Caramel recipe? |

I am watching 'Hunting Atlantis' on Quest. An enthusiastic man and a geologist who I think he has kidnapped are going to find Atlantis in the next hour. Only 3 minutes gone and they've alread revised Egyptian chronology and visited 2 museums. I am pumped for the forthcoming revelations.

PM has a habit of overcooking the caramel so it comes out like toffee. I prefer mine more of a golden syrup but we don’t use a thermometer so it’s a bit of guesswork as to the final colour. The custard is top notch though regardless. |
