Why the hostility to vegetarians & vegetarian food? I thought we were beyond that.

Morning! No work this week as I have to burn up some leave before the month end or lose it. Lots of pots have been planted up, so be ready for a late arctic blast. Pork chops for tea, with mash and a veg medley…. Plus….. batter puddings a la Destry … 50/50 with water, and resting for an hour. Update on this later. Crème caramels for dessert, although they should rest overnight for full unctiousness I’ve made 6 so will sample a couple tonight.

Is Roman Abramovich not going to get any money from the sale of Chelsea?
Seems a bit unfair. What was his crime? Where was the court?
Who will speak for Roman?

Not too shabby. Better than Babyfark's level 14 in Tarkov? You'll be the judge.

So if anyone wants an ill-informed triggish argument, bring it on.
Caveat, I will stand by my opinions though maybe not strongly.

Crisis in the morning when my mother phoned me out of the blue because she hadn't heard from my normally very reliable brother the night before and couldn't get hold of him this morning, either. Turns out that he clean forgot to phone her and went shopping instead. I'm enjoying my new "favourite child" status while it lasts. Two long gaming streams at the weekend, first an Elden Ring fundraiser for Ukraine, then the weekly Trails in the Sky stream. After several hours of Ring I still have no idea what's going on but I appreciated the various self-imposed challenges as donations were coming in, including going naked & unarmed for 10 minutes. Since a picture is worth a thousand words: Yes, I got my fill of "I used to be an adventurer like you" humour. Also very pleased by the knock-off Assyrian obelisk in the background. In Trails, we went into a dungeon where we had an enemy encounter with 6 Shining Poms. If you don't know, Shining Poms are the Metal Slimes of the Trails series, i.e. they are supposed to be very rare, give you loads of XP and plenty of money but are also very difficult to kill because they run away as soon as they can. Managed to kill all of them and had party members gaining six levels. Left the dungeon to exchange the now grossly overlevelled party, returned and ran into another battle with another 6 Shining Poms. Again killed all of them, went up six levels. Pressed on, now gaining only 2 or 3 XP points in each battle due to being several levels above requirement, ran into yet another encounter with, you've guessed it, six Shining Poms. We killed those, too. Didn't get that much XP because we had reached the limit. Next Sunday we'll be fighting the dungeon boss. It's going to be a cake walk.

When you run a country like Russia there is no court. Not unless you lose power.
Abramovich was the main money man for Yeltsin in the late 1990s. He is supposed to have picked Putin as Yeltsin's successor. Since then he has remained one of Putin's closest allies.
His rise in Russia was accompanied by significant violence, which ended when he and Derispaska controlled the aluminium industry. While neither was charged with anything it is quite a coincidence the killings stopped when they were at the top.
