I just read about the anti-war protester on Russian live TV.
Today I also found this grimly comical video.
The first woman is holding up a sign that just says "two words".

I just listened to the G football podcast where they lamented at length the baleful role of Abramovich and other questionable individuals in thepremierleaguetm (after 20 odd years of not noticing).
They suggested that Norwich is more or less the only club you can support with a clean conscience.
I hope the whole thing implodes soon and we can get back to football clubs being owned by carpet magnates and entrepreneurial butchers.

You forgot aiding and abetting Chelsea. Running a criminal organisation.

They suggested that Norwich is more or less the only club you can support with a clean conscience. I hope the whole thing implodes soon and we can get back to football clubs being owned by carpet magnates and entrepreneurial butchers. In my lifetime Birmingham have been owned by: High interest car finance providers (basically loan sharks) A scrap metal dealer - apart from nearly destroying the club he was arrested for ticket touting to our fans at Blackpool. We were under a strict no pay on the day order for away tickets at the time. There was also a small-medium riot at the game and in the town. This was caused by Blues fans. A cheap fashion retailer. Unfortunately they banked with BCCI. When it was shut down they went bust. Porn dealers. They were probably our best owners. It all went sour when they started playing footsie with West Ham while still owning us. A money laundering hairdresser. I can forgive Carson a lot for winning the league cup. A group of Hong Kong businessmen and Chinese exiles. The main man can't visit China in case he is arrested. It's not 100% clear whether the charges are politically motivated in part. There are some unproven suspicions that the current owners may not be 110% legitimate businessmen. Our nearest and dearest are owned by Nassef Sawiris. He is a close associate of the current somewhat murderous Egyptian dictator President Al-Sisi. Prior to that they were owned by a Chinese fraudster. WBA are owned by a Cbinese group rumoured to have no money. Wxlvxs are owned by Fosun, who appear to be a legitimate business. This is somewhat disappointing. Previously they were owned by a series of crooks. My favourite was the Bhatti brothers who took them to the brink of non-league football. The corrupt builder was also a highlight.

I'm a cynical old bastard, but I literally wept for that incredibly brave woman; I doubt that she will be seen again. There's no pit deep enough in Hell for Putin.

In My Life is the song we chose to play at my dad's funeral. He didn't particularly like The Beatles, but the lyrics seemed appropriate.
We also had a reading from the introduction from one of Alfred Wainwright's books about walking in the Lakes. Happy days.

To be fair I couldn’t tell the difference taste wise. It’s the first time using these tins and I might have erred on the overfull side. Fat used was some pork dripping from a midweek crackling joint.
Definitely needs more research. Anyone fancy a sand worm?

Anyone fancy a sand worm? I wouldn't say "fancy" exactly, but I'm not that fussy so long as it's all consensual.

I'm enjoying my new "favourite child" status while it lasts. It's great, isn't it? I've luxuriated in it for 43 continuous years so far.

In My Life is the song we chose to play at my dad's funeral. My mum wanted (and got) for the entrance, "Don't Rain on My Parade" by Barbara Streisand. If we're still burning folk when I go, I want Energy Flash when the curtain closes. Needs a 40k Turbo sound rig tho. Funeral arrangements on a phone line and everyone meets up in a service station car park to follow the hearse.
