Scottish real ale used to be not very good.
Generally overly malted and underhopped. Or at least all the stuff I tried in the early 1990s was. Belhaven mostly I think. It didn't matter whether it was 60/70/80. It was all disappointing.
It wasn't awful, but it was dull compared to beers starting to be brewed in England and there wasn't a great choice. It was obvious why lager was popular.
Some of the best beer now comes from Scotland. Loads of small brewers producing a massive range of styles.

That is true about the Scottish beers. In most pubs well into the 90s it was a straight choice between Tartan Special and McEwan's Export. The craft wanker revolution has improved things immeasurably. That said, I don't mind the odd can of Export (aka the Red Grenade), and if you want to drink all night and minimise the hangover then Belhaven Best is still the sensible choice. Tartan Special is fucking rank though.

I opt for short names because it's a pain in the arse for guys playing on mobiles to type long names. |

I started turning the TV, ps4, amplifier etc off at the mains at night rather than leaving on stand by. After much head scratching and checking cables etc on the Humax TV recorder because it wasn't recording my TV programmes I realised that the reason for the Humax tv recorder not working was directly related to me switching it off at night along with every thing else. Now that I've solved that problem I'm now not sure if I need to leave the TV on stand by as well as the Humax. I probably shouldn't be allowed to meddle with electrical equipment without adult supervision.

I've started turning the ps5 off as well instead of standby. I've put a smartplug on the Sonos speaker as apparently their standby power is atrocious. The plug uses a lot less.

I went out last night, I got up early this morning. I played four hours of Fortnite and watched one episode of Nathan For You.
It was very funny. I think Nathan for You might be the funniest thing I’ve seen, ever.
On a train going to the south coast. The train is moving but a rail replacement bus service awaits.
Feel strangely unmoored.
