Tomorrow is A. Bertram Chandler's birthday; I really enjoyed his space opera stuff in my yoof (bear in mind that I was reading 12-15 books a week and that there simply weren't enough free / cheap sf and f books to feed this habit); he wrote most of his stuff after a career in the Australian merchant navy. This was his first at the age of 49... |

We watched the straight-to-Disney+ Ice Age sequel this afternoon. The only cast member from original films was Simon Pegg, reprising his role as Buck Wild. Also, the animation was very stilted. A very cheap -looking film. I missed half of it due to falling asleep on the sofa. 4* We watched it too, and it was really bad. The new actor for the big mammoth was the worst. But the script, animation and general plot ran it close. It was also odd that they lazily just revisited the dinosaur land and for once made no effort to really visit anywhere new and exotic. |
