Is the ‘regular poster’ cut off about 5k? That’s a lot of hooting. Regular would be a few times a month, quality over quantity always. <edit>Been to the pub and even I realise that this definition raises some questions.

Am I the only person who regularly posts here that doesn't have Grauniad pick? No, you’re in good company as I also don’t have a pick It's 13 years since I have had one.* *And a Graun pick too.

I've never had one. Twice I thought, "hmm, this might get a pick" - but alas no.

You need to do the TenthEnemy trick.
If you want your life validated post early and positively on a Nintendo article. They are the Yukon for pick whoring.

I also read the Guardian online and unlike Sheep manage to scroll past the things I'm not interested in without getting annoyed.
<edit>Just realised that my last 2 posts were Sheep related;* which is slightly sad.
*was that a correct use of a semi-colon? I never know.

I think I've just got the one guardian pick. I suspect if you asked the G though they'd probably say it was the best comment they've ever had

I never know. Only the grammarmeisters know and probably a few others, but I don't think so - I reckon that should be a comma. Apart from lists, my instinct is that a semi-colon acts like a bridge between two independent clauses, whereas a comma separates a dependent clause "Just realised that my last 2 posts were Sheep related;* which is slightly sad" - the which is the clue - without 'my last 2 posts were Sheep related' the wicked which is on its broomstick wondering where it came from.

My first instinct was comma, I just think that a semi-colon is more impressive.
Interestingly the group of people I'm trying to impress regularly kill small animals, get strangely angry about football and think that fish puns are the height of comedy.
Still, I've met worse.

I have one Guardian Pick. It was over eight years ago.
It comprised three words. It received either 486 or 230 recommends. (the former in the Featured tab of my profile', the latter if I click on View Discussion...?) Dunno why the discrepancy. It was a fart gag and a pun.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

I think cheese puns are better. Tho fish jokes are brill.

My guardian pick was on an article asking something like 'if sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, what is the highest' to which I posted:
Fish puns

The correct response to being put in Guardian pre-mod is;

Quite a few people are genuinely upset about the death of the Queen, whatever your feelings about the Monarchy etc. I think one should respect/acknowledge/understand that.
The rituals that are going on don't, really, affect anyone here and maybe there should be a bit more empathy for people you don't know.
Personally a 96 year who died was not a shock, I did feel sad because she was the one thing in this world that was always there.
I'd rather be me than Symon.
