It's a Hyte Y60... £189.95 from overcockers, excludes the aircraft display. Cooling would be good if it's water cooled; those glass panels are a nono for airflow for air-cooled. Apart from bling value it's (s)hyte

Dearie me! The trend towards loads of flashing lights and bleeping noises is creating case builds that are genuinely nauseous. It's like having a custom handle on a hammer... The functionality capabilities of the tool are what matters. As for the control panel, most people who get one of these won't have a clue what it all means - it's mere techno-wankery. For most of the data, you're better off using software. What the hell is that? It looks like rare Axolotl are being bred inside it or something I know this is a deep cut, I can't remember from where. <edit>Dune?

If you want a trashy sci-fi look to your games room/ home office/ office I think it's excellent.
I've ordered three.

Varifocals are horrible the first time you wear them. Like you've been spiked.

In my mind I'm still young, it's just my body that's giving up! How young? My mind is probably mid-thirties, a time when there were few problems and the world was the mollusc of my choice(ish). <edit>My body says, one session but don't go over the top and have a rest the next day, I should listen to my body more often.

So Justin Trudeau was singing Queen. Probably best he chose Bohemian Rhapsody rather than Another One Bites The Dust.

Have you had eye surgery? People get longsighted with age, not shortsighted. I am still in the fortunate position that I can see things that are small and things that are far away. My mum has had varifocals since they first became available. She loves them but has been shortsighted since she was about 10. I believe one of the disadvantages of two pairs of glasses is that at any given point in time you will be wearing the wrong set.

On a side note I got a second pair of glasses so I can see the monitor more clearly, which I now wear day to day but I do need to go back to the old glasses to see a film, go to a gallery/exhibition or watch TV. <edit> and yes wearing the wrong glasses is really annoying.

People get longsighted with age, not shortsighted. I can confirm this. I used to be shortsighted and wore glasses, I now no longer need them. One of the very few advantages of old age. However I do struggle to read quite small print and sometimes have to resort to using a magnifying glass. Regular reading of normal print (say a book) is okay except in poor light.

I have the same spec set up as Felice. As a side note, I have been known to wander down to Tescos at night wearing my reading glasses (I may have been a bit pissed at the time).

Modern bulbs don't help. It's almost impossible to get something equivalent to a 100 watt bulb. My lounge only has a central light fitting. The room is less bright than when i could have 2 100 watt bulbs in it.

Soft lighting makes reading muxh harder. It might be ok fr watching tv but 40 watt equivalent bulbs are no good for reading.
The only thing i sometimes find hard to read is Edge. It has a terrible typeface and its ink is slightly grey. That's when it isn't weird colours. They had an article recently that was greay print on a yellow and white diagonally striped background. I tend to read it in daylight as it is fine then, while late at night it's a strain.
Also the articles are often hard to read. There is quite a lot of bollocks in it.

Or do you constantly look at things far away and close to you in a short time? <edit>For context, I have one pair of glasses to see things far away, If I want read a book I take my glasses off. I've been shortsighted and had to wear specs since I was 7. Just literally the last couple of months, I've been unable to easily resolve small text, eg the small print on a toothpaste tube, or smaller text in a browser window on my phone. Taking my (short sight) glasses off helps but I still can't focus on fine details like I used to, and it's come on pretty quick. 2 pairs of glasses would work, but how often do you pick up your phone in a day, or have to read text smaller than, say 10pt? It's more than you think. And the arseache of juggling 2 pairs of specs doesn't seem worth it. I could increase the text size on my phone, but that only solves half the problem, and makes using a phone less enjoyable. Until you can't do it, I suppose you never notice how often you look at something far away, and then something close up, but it's pretty fucking often I also ordered a new pair of single vision short sight lenses, which I expect I'll use 90% of the time. The varifocals, I imagine I'll use (if I can get used to the bastards) round the house, so that I can watch the telly and read the newspaper / my phone without having to scramble for another pair of specs. I remember my Grandad and his constant fight to find the right glasses for the occasion - can't be arsed with that (he had his 'lookers' and his 'see-ers', and as previously mentioned, never the right pair for the occasion)
