Xcom2
Playing with several mods which makes the game fun as opposed to sheer trauma.
Yesterday I lost a very tidy grenadier nick named T-Bone. She's already had a couple of hits on an extraction mission and we had a viper dug in like an Alabama tick. Luckily said viper was next to a car, a grenade did some damage and also set the car ablaze.
Ho ho, thought I. The next round will see the car explode and that deals with the viper, and it did. Except that the viper did the tongue grab thing and took T-Bone into its coils. The car duly exploded taking them both with it.
The mission debrief was awkward.

I'm asking for a friend... I'll make a list later but it boils down to: - extra weapon mod slot - avatar timer disabled* - timer tweaks** - more maps * yeah, I know it's the central dynamic but I find life challenging enough. ** you have 4 turns to somehow extract a heavily defended VIP. Nope (see above response). I have no idea how people can finish the vanilla game, less so when it's on a difficult level and ironman. |

The Lad's apparently got a new girlfiend. He now thinks he's Hulk Hogan and has taken to threatening people down the phone and punching the walls of his flat. It's only a matter of time...
He's also taken to try and drunkenly hug Mr T multiple times (pretty much 'on sight') in the evenings. Last night, I told him to 'get lost' on one such attempt. He very nearly burst into tears. What a muppet.

Back to work after the mourn-fest (boo!) but I am permitted to decide my own emotions (yay!).
Might have a cheese sandwich for lunch. Got some nice Red Leicester in the fridge.
Jims, none played. The younglings however got (miles) passed my old Lumo save point (where I got stuck and sulked) and didn't need my help at all. Sigh.
