In a bid to save some money I've been buying beer from Lidl. £1.69 for a 440ml tin of IPA. It's nice - well I like it and as its me that's drinking it... I digress.
When I pour it there seems to be a massive head on it. This is especially true when the can is full/just opened. It seems to calm down *a bit* on the second pour. I'm pouring it the same way I normally pour beer.
Is it just very gassy for some reason? Something else?
Any tips?

I'm pouring it the same way I normally pour beer. Is it just very gassy for some reason? Something else? Any tips? Two things to try: When the apollo music venue in Manchester was sponsored by carling, their pish was the only beer you could buy, and it was cans not draught. They served the beer in plastic glasses though, so you couldn't throw the cans at Jesus Jones (or whoever). Their rapid pour technique was to invert the glass over the top of the can, quickly turn the whole thing back the right way up, and to lift the can up just a few mm above the level of the beer as it pours out in one smooth movement. Sounds like bullshit but it works well with practice, with normal lager at least, I do it all the time. The other thing to try (I've not tried this) - beer foam won't stay for long in a glass that has any grease in it. Put the tiniest drop of oil on a piece of kitchen paper and rub it around the inside of the top of your glass. The head will still appear but it should disappear quickly. I saw that on YouTube so it must be kosher, right? PS cheers for the heads up on that geforce thing yesterday. I've had a crappy pc ready to set up under the TV downstairs for a while, I'm doing it now so I'll try it and let you know

Crank
Is it a craft IPA?
I find craft beers can be very lively. Have you tried chilling it? Or pouring very slowly.
Some beer is just lively at first. Bottles with secondary fermentation can be terrible. I bought some in Devon a couple of years ago that fountained out the bottles as soon as they were opened. It was nice beer, but absolutely ridiculous.
The best thing to do is pour slowly and accept you need to pour twice. If it's nice beer just enjoy it.

Yeah it's "craft" IPA. Out the fridge. Some Scottish brewery. I'll go with the pour slowly method combined with rubbing old engine oil round the rim.
The pm told me I was pouring it wrong. Too fast. Got her to do it. Ended up with head. On the beer.

The Leicester wall, when De Bruyne scores from the spot looks more worried about their wedding tackle than their goal; although the one facing to the right looks as though he is as worried about unwanted attention from his team mates!
