lazybonesI have heard "Pure yonks" fairly regularly tbf. They probably couldn't print "Fuckin yonks" and get away with it. Pure is used far too much in West Central Scotland. Pure roached, pure scantin' , pure Hank Marvin, usually it is precursed with "Ahm"

It's a legit word though. Just out of fashion and has been for yonks.
I wouldn't associate it with Scotland or the North.
Pure yonks is an odd phrase though. Not heard that.

I am hoping to spend time in the great wen on Friday and over the weekend.
I too am hoping to see the hieroglyph exhibition at the BM.
I am not really sure what i am doing though. I am hoping to see some football and revisit some pubs.
I may be under orders for a small or possibly a significant amount of the time. Or not.

I bought it for my brother for his birthday, and this is his review:

I definitely own a copy of Stalin's War. I don't think I have read it though.
I think it is providing structural integrity to the piles of unread books.

Piles of Unread Books
There has been a tiny amount of shrinkage over the last few weeks.
Since my birthday I have read more books than I have bought.
This is a magnificent achievement.
I intend to celebrate this by going to big Waterstones in Piccadilly, the LRB bookshop and possibly the BM bookshop. I might also take a peek in Foyles if I get the chance. I am not sure I have been to the new building. I am sure it won't be as good as the warren was.

ROAR! I still use 'yonks'. Make of that what you will. No games, too poorly. Producing some interesting specimens from nose and chest. OTTM, cold and foggy. OOTTM, I enjoy Scubars RDR2 updates. It really is the GOAT game. I went down the challenges rabbit hole. I think it was the kill x number of cougars with a bow and arrow that broke me. I have my save file ready for when I retire. It’s just going to be “mooching around the Old West” for a while, I have no intention of doing much of the story this time. |

I might have to start RDR2 again. Or maybe GTAV.
I recently played through the original Legend of Zelda on the switch NES emulator thingy, with the help of a walkthrough and lots of scum saving. I think it would have been too hard otherwise
I also restarted Outer Wilds. Good game, good game

Good morning!
I've been a bit moribund again lately. Lackadaisical. Deflated. Languid. Need some jazz juice to get me moving again.
Games - CoD of Duty. Some chap spent the whole match shooting people with his rocket launcher. It was top banana. Also Micro$oft flight simulator - if I had to proffer bananas, if bananas were to be given, it would receive all the bananas. A full compliment. Hairy landings galore, all over the world. And that's just the men!
