Do you use an insulin pen ? It should be quick and easy. Yes, but it isn't necessarily. That's because I am bedbound. I have to get the equipment together, assembled in a small area while on my back before I have anything to wake me up. Injecting the measured dose is a matter of seconds. But then everything has to be put back in packets, boxes to protect the kit from carers' and nurses' casual damage. The process goes: 30m to come to; 20m to get stuff out and assembled; 5-25m to test sugar level; 5m injection, 15m to put away 1n 10m. All this would be much faster if I could walk into the kitchen to do this stuff - say 50m. |
