Snow was promised. It started to snow. Then it stopped. Fuck all snow really. Poor effort.
Hello.
PM went to bed early and I played a few rounds of BF2042. It's decent. Obviously lots of ps+ noobs like myself. A decent amount of kills. Running around as engineer with the marksman rifle and ant-tank rocket. Tremendous.
Usual Fri school run, cleaning & shopping delivery. Also need to put together the child's bike that hopefully fits her this time.
But I also need to decarb some pollen as take two of operation self sufficient chews. Onwards!

Still fucking snowing. Probably 7 or 8 inches up here. School and nursery are both shut, which never usually happens with snow. Both kids are therefore home. Kill me now.

A man is obsessed with trains.
A man is obsessed with trains, so he finally steals one and immediately crashes it, killing several people...
At the trial, the man is found guilty of multiple murders and is sentenced to death.
Before he is executed, he is offered a last meal, and asks for a single banana, which is given to him. The next day, he is led to the electric chair. They strap him in, pull the switch, and... nothing happens.
There has never been a failure before. Since you cannot punish a person twice for the same crime, the court is forced to let him go free.
Within a week's time, naturally, the man, who is obsessed with trains, goes and steals another one. He doesn't care that he can't drive it or that he failed catastrophically before; he is obsessed with trains and his only desire is to operate one. As before, he crashes it, and kills several people. Again, he stands trial, and again, he is sentenced to death, showing no remorse, only delight that he got to operate the train.
His last meal request is again a single banana.
When he goes to the chair, the executioner pulls the switch, but nothing happens. As before, he goes free again.
The train-obsessed maniac, once more on the loose, wastes no time in hijacking a train and crashes it.
His trial is swift, as this has already happened twice, and he is again sentenced to death. They ask him what he would like for his last meal.
"A single banana," he says.
"Oh, no you don't, you son of a bitch. We're on to you, now. We know all about your little banana trick, and you're not escaping this time!" The guards refuse his request, and instead serve him a standard last meal of steak, potatoes, and apple pie.
The next morning they strap him into the electric chair, pull the switch, and... nothing happens.
"Did you give him the banana?" demands the head guard.
"No, sir! He asked for the banana but we didn't give it to him, we swear!" says one of the guards.
Turns out the banana had nothing to do with anything.
He was just a really bad conductor.

Wait a minute. He drove the train so heβs not a train conductor.
Or maybe heβs βbadβ, like Michael Jackson, and just happened to be a conductor. Which I guess is how he got access to the trains in the first place.
Interesting.
Actually a bad conductor (of electricity) would probably do worse on an electric chair because thereβd be more impedance, so more heat. Maybe?

They don't take no shit with JWs in that there Germany. Maybe a bit OTT though. A bucket of water might have sufficed.

Was it you who mentioned Under the Skin the other day? I have not seen the film but I have read the book. It shit me right up, so I have no interest in grimacing through the film version. Also, the book was set in and around Aviemore and the A9 was a major part of the story. As a huge fan of the A9, moving the action to Glasgow and making other A roads central to the story is, imo, unacceptable.

Solved the the ongoing insomnia problem by getting outside half a bottle of gin last night. In doing so I've created another problem, wherein my mouth feels like a pub carpet - brushed my teeth three times to no avail. Ick.
In other news my mum has decided at the tender age of 72 that she no longer wants to drive after her next birthday (July), and has offered to give me her car, gratis. It's a four year old Kia Rio - so no street cred points - but a top spec one with all the options, so I've snapped her hand off. Score!
Rare day off, off to trawl gamepass for something worth playing π
