I do like my Sonos speaker, I must admit. It's probably the best thing in my life. Yeah me too. I'm hoping for a Sonos soundbar at some point. So it's not a pair of Kef LS50s but that's never going to happen anyway.

If everyone's keyboard was broken the world would be a better place.

Obviously that was meant for Destry. But it still stands. As memory serves me, Destry uses a clear membrane on top of the keyboard - a US>UK convertor thing. I don't. I used to but don't any more. I have also just noticed my ' key has also stopped working. Creeping Keyboard Paralysis....

whatalarkI'd keep trouble shooting the nas problem. Don't just go with wav as its working. If you're using WiFi for the player can you make the Quality of Service for the device higher in your router? Or get a big ethernet cable and see if that sorts it? If it's the connection you might be able to fix it.

Have a very old Dell latitude that runs Linux Ubuntu but had to change to Ubuntu Mate but it was still slow. Then the dvd drive died. Found a note book size laptop with 11" screen made especially for Linux by Starlabs. Hence I'm now back to ripping CDs. Sits comfortably on the arm of the chair. Torrhunt found me all six series of Expanse but everything is Mp4 which my not so smart TV doesn't seem to recognise. So now I'm watching it on an 11" screen. Might get a portable monitor for watching such things. One thing always seems to lead to another. But at least the keyboard works.

You get different speeds cat 4/5/5e/6/7
How old are they? It should say on them printed the length of the cable. Don't use less than 5.

I'm baking a birthday cake for the wife, something I have not done before.
The electric whisk made a hell of a mess when I mixed up the cake ingredients, but there was no warning from Mary Berry in her book, the bitch.

I am completing my online bribery training whilst the cake bakes, and my company have felt it necessary to explicitly warn against holding company events in a strip club.

IT people tend to use different colours for different jobs, but it doesn't indicate any difference in how they work.
Short green ones for patching in the data cabinet, yellow for POE applications, grey for boring ones, etc.
Ethernet cables, not strip clubs, obviously.

My keyboard is in fine fettle. All the letters. abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz. Top banana.
I also own a fancy music streaming box. But I just plug a hard disc into it or use the Sonos instead, it's much easier.
Today is my Friday, and I feel like I just ran a 10K, while hungover, and now feel a touch.. off. I haven't been drinking. Top banana. I blame the blood worms.

I wrote a policy that explicitly bans the pouring of alcohol directly into other people's mouths (unless they're unable to drink independently by way of disability). It's been broken on multiple occasions by staff.

The long cable that trails around the room to the netgear says it's a catch cable cat6. The others are 5e. I've tried OGG and m4a which both stutter. WavPack that it doesn't recognise. mp3 and wav work fine. I'm stumped.

I did discover a couple of months ago that some files I'd downloaded from Bandcamp were too high quality for the system to handle, so I had to use some software to convert them to a lower rate of whatever it is. The 44/16 whatevers. I felt extremely proud of myself for working that one out.
Needless to say, the quality of the music itself was not too high.
Bandcamp gives you several download options; FLAC is the default, but you can also select others. It must be better IMHO to select, say, MP3 v0, rather than bouncing between different formats

MP3 is lossy though.
FLAC is the smallest lossless format. I record in the best quality I can so that my terrible music sounds as good as possible.
It does make most sense to download in the format you want where possible. I use MP3 converter to put everything in to FLAC if it isn't already so that I don't have lots of odd formats.
I am pretty certain Ogg Vorbis is dragon eggs not music files.
