I remember being at an early Shaman gig after they had gone dance. They were playing and triggering a sequencer/samples. The fucking idiots in the crowd were giving them grief for "having a backing track" - I was absolutely mortified that the gig going crowd in my home town were so fucking stupid and knew fuck all about music technology. Which all ties in nicely with the GLOK gig last night. The pm when I was talking today about what he was doing went on the bam-up "Sounds like what Ed Sheeran does...". A high compliment indeed. I can't think of a person who doesn't enjoy Ed Sheeran's music.. |

So have I. Boiler is 18 years old. Still working but having it replaced next Wednesday before problems start to appear. We had our boiler serviced last week. The heating engineer had a brief chat with me at the end to say that it might be worth putting money aside for 18 month’s time to replace the boiler. Current one is working fine, and still in warranty… but there’s government legislation to stop building boilers in two years time. Apparently. I’ve read up on this, and there are no plans to do that. Zero. Only new builds will not have gas or oil boilers from 2025… I know he’s trying to protect his business, but that was blatant misinformation for the customer. Either way, once this boiler starts acting up, it’ll be heat-pump time. I'm stone built so a heat pump is not an option for my type of property. From what I understand it would never produce enough heat, I'm not sure of the reason without looking it up. New boiler will be able to run on the 20% hydrogen mix that will be coming at some time. |

Turned up thermostat to start the heating as it was a bit chilly, nothing, oh dear, still have hot water and after various bits of investigation found out that heating will work but only if we use a timer.
Still turns off when the temperature hits what the thermostat is set so no effective difference to what we used to do.
Seems the switch that sets it to just use the thermostat doesn't stay in position and flicked back to the timer position which had never been set.
So mild panic over just before I was about to look up the telephone number for boiler repair people.
<edit>I was quite pleased with myself working it out and obviously took the Pref.Mam. through the steps when they got back from the gym.

Every evening before the child goes to bed, a bottle of water is brought to her room in case of thirst etc.
So maybe, just maybe at five fucking fifty am instead of lying in bed coughing non stop you could take a sip or two of water to try and sort your tickly throat and not wake your parents.
