"Therion is a Swedish symphonic metal band founded by Christofer Johnsson in 1988. Its name was inspired by the Celtic Frost album To Mega Therion. "To Mega Therion" is Greek for "The Great Beast" and was a title used by occultist Aleister Crowley."
Bit heavy for a Thursday morning.
Games Chat: My wife occasionally glimpses some of the stuff that I play in 'the other room'. Her diagnosis? "And you wonder why you sometimes have nightmares.".
Getting on a lot in Deadspace 3. Shotgunning necromorphs with acid shells never gets old*
*it will, won't it? *sobs*

He’s done a 3 and a half hour metal opera called Beloved Antichrist which I’m about 2/3rds of the way through, in small stages. Johnson, not Crowley, as far as I know. It’s good, if a bit bonkers. I’d recommend the song “Bring Her Home” as the clear highlight thus far. Falsetto baritone all over the shop. Four stars. I’d also recommend listening to no more than 35 minutes of it at a time. Hi! Last night involved 2 bottles of wine, a ukelele and, coincidentally, popular selections from Finnish and Icelandic symphonic and black metal artistes. And Jason Mraz.

Therion is also a playable character in Octopath Traveler. A thief.

Therion is also the classification of daemon* given to the protagonist of Tales of Berseria. A daemon that 'eats' other daemons.
*I hate this spelling of demon. What's wrong with just demon?!

There was a good insult on Orange is the New Black last night, "you're a total cock pocket".
Working at home today, but busy with it.

Wampyr is the best spelling.
As in “ Aarrrrrrggg! Mein Gott, wampyr!”
A phrase that also works incredibly well with wombats in German. It’s the v/w thing. “Arrrrg! Vombats!”

I might have been following the wrong Therion on Instagram.
At least you can't go wrong with the spelling of werwulf.
(declension: weswulf, wemwulf, wenwulf)*
*with apologies to Chr. Morgenstern

Last night I played no Octopus Trevor, but I appreciate today's Chatterbox picture. Btw, Simon Parkin's little review is still nowhere to be found in the games section. They must have forgotten. I bet he'll think twice before he puts effort into his next "Game of the Month" column. Ironic that they've got the "you may have missed" category. Comments are still open, though. Could be the new seabin? www.theguardian.com/games/2018/aug/05/octopath-traveller-review-nintendoInstead I finally got off my backside and installed Windows off a memory stick onto our desktop computer that had been in a coma since a stupid Windows update had sent it into an everlasting blue screen of death many years ago. At one point the install objected to the partition of the hard drive, sending me into despair. However, I quickly googled it and found the video of an Asian gentleman on YouTube who demonstrated a solution to the problem (i.e. delete everything. A man after my own heart). His comment section was full of people sobbing that they had been stuck for three days before he came to the rescue, calling him their best friend and asking to marry him. I, too, left my thanks, and soon thereafter I was greeted by the lovely voice of Cortana (urrgh, shuddup). We also finished the last available episode of The Crown. Would recommend, although the ending was a bit limp. I also watched yesterday's Smash Bros. themed Nintendo Direct, and it was actually immensely entertaining. The reveal of new characters at the beginning was great (although as an older gamer you knew straight away who it was, while the kids are still scratching their heads now, wondering who that is). Keza's got an interview with Sakurai to go with it, nice.
