So I'm waiting for red dead 2 to come out but I've only got the Xbox 360. What do I upgrade to? Xbox or ps? (honestly I'm so out of touch). PS4 or xbone. The question that has plagued generations since around 4am our time. We're mostly on PS4 - but don't let that put you off, you're in a different timezone. You're already bought into the Xbox infrastructure so it kinda makes sense to stick with that. A lot of the games you own may well be backwards compatible and there may well be platform only games such as err Forza you may wish to play. I jumped from 360 to ps4. My reason though was ridiculous. The original bone couldn't stand on its side and the only space we had for a console was between the TV unit and the wall. You've been in my house, you know the space I mean. You haven't? Oh. Who was that in the Mounty uniform with a bear on a chain. Mrs Crank said it was you. Akward. |

toolio2010Its pretty widely regarded that the PS4 is the console of this generation. Unless as crank says you're invested in an Xbox game, PS4 exclusives win hands down and I'm sure I've missed some: God of war Bloodborne MGS5 Uncharted Last of us (since you missed PS3) Ratchet and clank Horizon zero dawn Persona 5 Yakuza The upcoming 4 new games: Shadows die twice Spiderman Last of us 2 That weird game from MGS creator

The Xbox one x is more powerful than the PS4, but the better games are on the PS4. That essentially sums the argument for each machine.

Yes it's the console, but the emulator on the console needs to be updated for the games. And if you don't own the games it's a moot point.
The ps4 exclusives mentioned above are a good point - and as for the old games you could still hold onto the 360. There may be room between the TV unit and the wall for example.

Xbox: - Best performance/ graphics (on the X at least)
- Most reliable servers
- More 'gamer friendly' due to cross play
- Game pass is a very good deal ( ~£8 a month for a shit ton of games and every console exclusive that has/will be released)
PS4:
- More players
- Better exclusives, by a country mile
- The console of choice in here
- Bloodbourne
That's my take anyway.

Last night I downloaded Destiny 2 just in time to make dinner and watch Netflix and then go to bed. Textbook.
The DLC isn't at all essential for Destiny 2, but both of the mediocre DLCs launched this year are required to play the shiny new DLC launching next week.
