I remember War! by The Boss playing on German radio on the hour instead of the news when the first Gulf War broke out. Told you all you needed to know. I don't know anything about relatives involved in WW I, but that's generally the case with German families as they all caught a bad case of loser's lurgy. In WW II my grandfather died somewhere in Russia and my mother lost her little brother and everything they owned in the bombing of Hamburg. My mother absolutely hates hearing on the news that some politicians have ordered the bombing of some country, but still it happens all the time. Ironically it was Mr Tent Rooster's relatives who were doing the bombing. Comparing ancestors who fought each other makes us love each other more. Recently John Crace wrote about the difficulties his grandparents had getting together because of his grandfather's German nationality. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/nov/02/digested-week-a-sonnet-antarctic-intrigue-david-cameron-returnIt's nice to see that love conquers all.

Plusnet have been good to me, their unlimited internet package does truly seem to be unlimited, unlike the others that are unlimited*. Getting it set up is an absolute nightmare lottery though as it still involves BT Openreach who do all the actual infrastructure for most of the broadband providers.
Once we had some poor 12 year old** up a ladder trying to figure out which box of wires attached to a wall he needed to plug our internet cable into to make it work. After two visits from the youngster about a week apart, a gruff old guy was sent out, who barely uttered a word and got the whole thing set up in about five minutes, if that, no ladders involved. When I expressed surprise and explained what had happened before he just feigned a smile, grunted, and left.
*unlimited until you download too much ** he may have been slightly older. fresh faced though.

Sausages! I ate so much currywurst last weekend I horrified even myself. No regrets, would absolutely do it again. Vier stars.
Cheese and onion sandwich. Booooooo.
*Sterne, even. I should know that. I’m attempting to brexit-proof myself through a combination of the Babbel app and Rammstein lyrics**. It’s an idiosyncratic approach.
**In this case “Sie müssen sich an Sterne krallen”

Ww1 my Irish great grandad fought in France. Bit controversial due to the politics at the time. Ww2 Eire was neutral and my grandad was an mp for 6 years.my other one built roads so was essential. No war stories here.

No war stories here. I've just remembered that my great-uncle, after whom I was named, built the railways across Canada. Your welcome.

It's the Sheffield derby today, so I will no doubt have all kinds of nonsense to contend with when I walk from train station to bus stop later. Both sets of fans annoy me on the best of days, and the idiocy factors is amplified tenfold whenever they play each other. I bet I get chanted at. Or honked at.

I just had a look at the list and there are some really weird choices in there. Eddy Grant's Gimme Hope Jo'anna? Did the apartheid regime put that on the list when no one was looking?

What on earth will you be doing/wearing to attract chants and/or honks from random football supporters?

I'm currently reading up on tips for RDR2 as the game system is baffling at times. These kind of tips are equally as baffling though...
"Certain tonics will fortify rings. You can see them as yellow items in your satchel. Any tonic that will fortify your ring will turn that ring yellow and make it a complete circle."
Baffling, yet arousing.

Today is my Friday. This is unusual and taking some getting used to. Warchat! no famous rellies that i'm aware of, although nan's house managed to stop a V2. Luckily she was out, and me mum had already been evacuated to Yorkshire otherwise i'd not be here. I've still got a genuine WW2 flying jacket that I got from Grandad, but as he was in the army he probably nicked it from the rightful RAF owner. Games - dabbled back into nomanssky to have a look at this Abyss update. Flew to a planet, waded into the sea, took a photo of some fish, got message saying mission completed so flew back to Polo and got paid. Is that it? For a Halloween scary spectacular I seem to have missed something. To round things off I landed on a planet next to a building, which clipped into my ship, and every time I try and get out I'm trapped in the landscape. As it also saves the game at this point I gave up.
