I love star wars but i do wonder what people expect from the films. All the recent ones seem fine to me, give or take. Decent homages to the originals, and not as shit as the prequels. Bear in mind that I saw Return of the Jedi when it was first out at the cinema so my Star Wars opinions are probably more prestigious than yours. Or at least older.

The recent Star Wars films seem crap, but competent to me. I think they could do a lot more with them (like producing decent films), but I suppose they are ok. Disney aren't going to take risks with a franchise they paid $6 billion for. There always seems to be too many characters & very little ambiguity. On the plus side the recent films are better than the post ROTJ Lucas crap.
My opinions are dustier and therefore better than Rolling's. I saw The Empire Strikes Back at the cinema when it was first released.

I have no sense of imagination so sci-fi like Sw is redundant to me, no really. Guyana rum and some very poor local craft beer after a very cold and spooky hike of 14 kms in the woods to a grave site. 4 stars.

The last round of the Wilder vs Fury fight goty adrenaline up too much. No chance of getting back to sleep now.

I loved star wars once but I do recognise they are essentially children's films. All the recent ones seem mildly tedious to me, give or take. Decent homages to the originals, and not as shit as the prequels. Bear in mind that I saw Return of the Jedi when it was first out at the cinema and I'm not feeble-minded so my Star Wars opinions are better than yours.

On point (1) I can't understand people who watch horror movies and get scared. It's a fillum innit. On point (2) I beg to differ. Toolio2010 has done a good job with Scubar (mind you, I've been burnt before. Piccys Toolio or it didn't happen) OTTM: Still fucking ill.

I don't watch horror films* as they "shit me up"®
Generally through the use of cinematography, soundtrack and sound fx this happens. They've been doing it for years and know what they're doing.
Why do you get caught up in the story in a book? Just words on paper.
*Some exceptions include the first Halloween film, first nightmare on elm st and the shining as I've seen them.

Excellent boxing from Fury against Wilder ... I thought "they'll rob him of this" As soon as I heard that one of the judges was Mexican I forecast he'd give the bout to Wilder; I don't blame him. Given a choice between a back pocket stuffed full of US$1k bills or a permanent concrete grave for my family by the drug cartels, I'm pretty sure I'd take the cash. RollingEscargot If validity of judgment is given by seeing the earliest film Star Wars IV, then mine's guvnor... I saw it at the Dominion and I was thrilled right from the subsonics of that big bastard star destroyer slowly filling the top of the screen to the closing credits time flew... at the time it thrilled ... but there was also some occasional light relief. The Walt Disney decision to rip up canon and rewrite 'history' guaranteed the alienation of increasingly larger numbers of SW fans Add to that WD's need to impose moralising propaganda rather than storytelling as the objective of the series and you have an untenable premise for a franchise. It's like a TV preacher taking over the rights to the Bible and rewriting the OT, changing the prophets to a make them women and/or black, white etc, rather than what they were. Most of all I hate them for destroying the thread of quasi-history that enabled the ready suspension of disbelief, the extirpation of that sense of wonder we shared and its replacement with a deflating mundanity tinged with misandry. "What fools men are..." Maybe, but not enough to buy any more of that poisoned nonsense.

Jainna Solo, trained with Boba Fett to take on her brother Jacen Solo when he went darkside. Badass women, EU had them by the bucket load. Rogue Squadron had people of colour in it. But we still have the books etc. Comics have altetnate versions. I prefer the EU.

Watched Bright yesterday.
I love the premise, it would have worked better as a series. They tried to world build but it was like the manual for Zelda nes.
Ganon, zelda, triforce. Off you pop.
Rather then breathe of the wilds more detailed back story.
27 days to my wedding. I should of bought a brown suit.

Now *that's* a quote from Ghostbusters.
{Edit} in fact one that made me spit coca cola all over the ABC cinema in about 1985/6 whenever it came out.

At the hairdresser's. #3 all over and my eyebrows trimmed. Yes that could be done in the house probably.
Games. GTA last night. In a crew lobby for a car meetup and some deliveries for folk.
TV. More community. Lee Majors as a teacher.
Food. Made chilli. Had some chorizo in the fridge so threw that in after someone (Conchord?) Saying they had.

Hello all,
I'm still alive. 2-0 to the forest Vs Ipswich yesterday, a classic grabbon double.
Today is the last day, I am in the pub watching the spurs game- I've forgotten what it's like to be sober.
Who's getting the beers in?

Are hairdresser's open in Glasgow on a Sunday? We don't get that in a backwater like Birmingham.
