I once got approached by some fucking Christian do-gooder while I was sat on a bench waiting for the shop I worked in at the time to open. Assumed I was homeless (despite the uniform I was wearing) but didn't offer me any tangible help, just god nonsense.

That the problem most people will help a person in need ( I hope) but because of people pretending to be homeless etc people are now less likely to help. Councils are telling people to stop given them money ( the same councils who dont want you to feed pidgeons). I know someone who works for Middlesbrough Council pretty well and, apparently, there's only one 'genuinely homeless' person in Middlesbrough. The rest have refused help, houses etc. despite being offered many times. It's supposedly due to the stipulations that they'd have to get help for various addictions in order to get the lodgings. I don't know what the one other person has done to not be offered a place but, there you go.Yep there is help out there but some dont want it. Alot of "homeless" are actualling sleeping on friends and families sofas waiting for houses. They have jobs etc.

I have beaten my gaming funk by restarting Stardew Valley. Currently up to my first Winter. Think I've made quicker progress this time around. Just need 2 fish, 2 pieces of animal produce and the chef bundle to finish the community centre. Pretty sure it took me until Year 2 Autumn last time around. Jesus thats quick! Some of the crops aren't even available til year 2 I thought! I'm doing the same and aiming to get the greenhouse before the end of the first year but some of the animal bits are a right pain.

I hate religions because Im a bigot like that (or sane which ever you want to use) but I do give to the Salvation Army. I have seen them actually doing the christian thing of helping people. Free meals etc.

I've been quite lucky with the Gypsy woman. Managed to get the red cabbage, duck feather and rabbits foot from her, along with some other bits and pieces to speed it along. Just need her to stock some milk and wool now (still haven't built my barn). The fish are the desert and 'secret forest' ones so could do both of them pretty easily now. With a bit more luck I might have it done by Spring*. Edit: *Just completely forgot about the chefs bundle there. No chance it'll be done by Spring, can't remember how to get the frond looking thing and I'm nowhere near getting a pig.

Society: Homelessness and sleeping rough is pretty much all self-inflicted. Most of these people have drink / drug / mental health problems, and need to pull themselves together. They're choosing to sleep rough or be in temporary accommodation. There's a perfectly good benefits system to look after them, as well as loads of charities. Giving money to them makes the problem worse.
Games: a bit of DS2.
Other things: I had a fucking lobotomy, had my moral compass removed, and drained every last drop of human kindness or sympathy from my soul. Then I started reading the Daily Mail. I mean, I'm a fucking ignorant moron, a credulous dribbling prick, and a total tory cunt now, but at least I fit in round here.

By the way if a chatterboxer mentions that they blog, video themselves, have accounts elsewhere, and you check them out as they mentioned them.
Its totally their fault you know what they maybe look like right.
Normal social ettiquette confuses me, digital is worse.

Stardew Valley Very roughly how many hours play will it take for a year? Also, does the game benefit for leaving the console on and not having to do anything?

I'm on my first play through and it's been a good few hours and I'm only in the beginning of summer. It doesn't benefit from leaving it on no, time will pass but everything will die except the weeds. And rocks which appear out of nowhere.

Conchord. It was the frond looking thing that screwed me on my first play, its only found in summer in the secret forest! Such a good game. Bugger. I'll just keep my fingers crossed the Gypsy has it then. Cheers for the info! Don't think I could even access it until Autumn so doesn't look like I stood a chance. GetOver , it'll depend on how many villagers you want to befriend as to how long a year will take but I think I'll hit 30 hours for my first year this time around, focusing on 5 or 6 villagers. Year 2 should be quite a bit shorter. As for your second question, I don't think it benefits at all. It auto saves at the beginning of each day so can be picked up and put down quite easily. Edit: Don't I feel slow now! TLDR; what the other two said.

So I've mostly just gone about my business on my own. Always on the edge of society.

Always on the edge of society. Its worth giving them gifts to get your friendship up, you get various perk like random gifts and recipes from them as well as occasional nice little cutscenes. There are somethings that they don't like but generally the bits n bibs you can forage around the place make ok gifts.

Should I spend time helping villagers then? Currently I just speak to whoever I meet and they're rarely very friendly. Its worth giving them gifts I think we've established you should give your "gifts" to charities established to help these villagers. Gifts you give them directly will just be spent on drink or drugs. Most of them aren't even genuine 'villagers' anyway and are just playing the system. My brother's neighbour's hairdresser's sister works on Stardew Council and says there's actually only one genuine villager in that whole valley.

Games: none
Being social: met for a chinwag with a Russian friend at a cafe. She turned up with an enormous Christmas themed shopping bag as she had bought a reindeer skin at the Christmas market and was wondering how she will eventually get it home
Tv: just catching up with some Seth Meyers clips
Dinner: defrost some frozen paella
Babyfark: would be dangerously close to a "your dinner is in the bin" note in my house
