I'm brain dead and watching Dr Who from 2005, Christopher Eccleston season. Rose Tyler uses "gay" as a casual insult without any suggestion that it might be offensive or narrative context that might justify the obvious homophobia. What I'm saying is, is Felice's Dad Billie Piper? I do hope so. EDIT: and I just used the term brain dead as if it wasn't clearly offensive. Ooops. No <edit> Just thought that Shenny wouldn't understand I was talking about whether Billie Piper was my Dad, she isn't, as far as I know

Interesting.), but because I'm introducing Mr Tent Rooster to Dr Who I started with the Ninth Doctor and today we watched the exact same episode and I thought THE EXACT SAME THING!!! (Not the bit about Billie Piper being Felice's Dad. At the time, I mean.)

Also is that when it was written by Russell T Davies? I'm not sure it is straightforward to describe it as casually homophobic.

This is classic social justice warrior Shenguin, seeking to prove one of Britain's foremost gay writers is a nasty homophobe.

The series was announced in 2004 and broadcast in the first half of 2005. It was casual, and it was homophobic, but I didn't describe it as casually homophobic. My point was more that use of gay like that has become relatively quickly unacceptable; I don't think they would have written that even 5 years ago. I am aware Russell T Davies is a gay.

Not that I want to defend... but this sentence doesn't make any sense I think it does. I basically accused Dr Who under Russell T of being honophobic. Russell T is one of the foremost gay writers. Sheeps (wrongly) accused me of being having too black and white* a view of language which constantly evolves and is dynamic and changing. *sorry

Language does evolve and change. This doesn't mean people can use loose when they mean lose.
It makes me all stabby.

Also those who use immeasurable to describe improvements that can easily (and very often have been) measured. The Guardian is keen on this one.

BBC* reporters who use' less' when they mean 'fewer' really annoy me.
* ITV I could understand, Auntie Beeb's employees should know better.

Boyzone sang that, so you can take it to the bank.

My dad used to ask for a "carendar" when going to the local Chinese restaurant. Why would you ask for a calender in a restaurant? Unless the service was slow. A little thing called brand awareness. Seems to be a thing down Brighton way anyway.

Language does evolve and change. This doesn't mean people can use loose when they mean lose. It makes me all stabby. It's the difference between "losing your shit" and "loosing your shit" - one signifies anger, the other is best not described.
