Look, we couldn't solve the homeless crisis yesterday. We're certainly not going to sort the Israel/Palestine question today. “The Gang Solves The Israel/Palestine Question” And the villain of the piece is actually ... Old man FRANK who runs the abandoned games comments section.

Can we do surf and turf puns? Would that work? Absolutely not. I refuse to be a prawn in your game.

Cheese and curry toastie? Tell me more... What's the cheese? The curry? Do you have any bulk or is it basically paneer?

I must admit my hands are not clean here either - I once walked past Gove in a street and failed to nudge him into the path of oncoming traffic. In my defence, I was temporarily stunned by how rubbery and strange his face looked in real life, like one of the aliens from Bad Taste or a first draft of Cthulhu.

Gavin Williamson somehow manages to look uniquely smug, yet utterly generic at the same time

Cheese and curry toastie? Tell me more... What's the cheese? The curry? Do you have any bulk or is it basically paneer? Nothing quite so exotic or authentic. Just mature cheddar and left overs of a turkey thigh and tomato based concoction of my own recipe.

and tomato based concoction of my own recipe. You take a tomato and you....juice it. I call it....a Tomato-Juice! I think it'll catch on.

I have just received details of my work Christmas 'party'. Apparently we are going to stand around for an hour on a Monday lunchtime, share some bulgur wheat salad and a glass of wine, then go back to work. We are expected to bring the food ourselves. I am Phil Brown angry.

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good board game to kickstart the inevitable argument that will happen over Christmas?

Plenty of secret santa inspiration in Poundland. I've narrowed it down to either a bag of dried mealworm, twin pack of lucozade sport, or 8Mile dvd

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good board game to kickstart the inevitable argument that will happen over Christmas? On a similar note, any suggestions for a good two player board game? The better half and I played 7 Wonders: Duel last year and quite enjoyed it.

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good board game to kickstart the inevitable argument that will happen over Christmas? How many players? Splendor is nice and simple (like your face etc): up to 4 players Ticket to Ride, bit more complex but very good indeed. up to 5 players. Colt express is a train hijacking game, its a lot of fun. Up to 6 players

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good board game to kickstart the inevitable argument that will happen over Christmas? I played a game last Christmas, I think it was called Dixit. I thought it was pretty good. You basically have to describe a series of surreal images in such a way that others can't guess your cards. Not that that made any sense. Ignore anyone who suggests Pandemic. Working together? Nah mate

Up to 6 players 2-6 people. I was thinking possibly King of Tokyo, something fun to try and get everybody on board and enjoying it. Tried Exploding Kittens last year which seemed too “weird” for most people. I’m aware I might need a new/different family.

Anybody got any good suggestions for a good board game to kickstart the inevitable argument that will happen over Christmas? Monopoly never disappoints. Even playing Scrabble with granny high on eggnog is enough to kick things off! I was wondering how Owen Duffy's "Best board games for Christmas" piece had attracted over 300 comments. I should have known that it just encouraged people to name all the board games they've played for years. Anyway, I appreciated your Super Tennis comment.

I played a board game recently that features a disappearing island, and you attempting to get your buddies off of it through seas filled with sharks and sea monsters.
I forget what it is called, but it was good fun. You should get that.

I've still got that kicking around somewhere. A classic

It's a great quick & silly game where you can make a wooden shark eat your friends!

I'm pretty mad. My board game related comment hasn't been published in the other place, despite being totally on topic and in no way negative. The only reason I can think of is that it was excessively whimsical?
It was as follows: Board games! Marvellous! Codenames! Wonderful! Survive: Escape from Atlantic! Tremendous!
Annoying as things like that mean it'll take me longer to get out of pre-mod, despite not breaking the community guidelines. I might double done and just start sending shitty messages to the mods in comments.
EDIT! I take it back, they posted it in the end.
