Morning
New Year gaming resolution #1 - reach the centre of the galaxy in Elite Dangerous. Or at least die trying in a serious attempt to do so. I've put in several hundred hours on and off since 2016, but the furthest I've been away from the bubble is about 12000 light years, so a round trip of over 10 times that seems like a worthy goal. I may have to gut and refit an existing ship, or buy something new and capable, but it needs to be done.

Back at work today, almost glad to be back to normal. Buses are still Saturday service though.
I played a bit more NMS on normal mode. I cannot leave my current system with a couple of planets and moons without building a hyper drive, so I decided to explore a nearby moon to find some copper as part of one of the early quests. However these crab things kill me the moment I leave my ship, even when I blast off and land somewhere else.

Crabs you say?
I've met some small scuttlers that hide in long grass and give you a nasty nip, but they are more a nuisance than a fatal attack, as if you kill 'em then you've got sentries to deal with.
Sounds more like Biological horrors.... did they pop up out of the ground after you harvested a whispering egg? If so then they will stick around as long as you are active near them. They should eventually get bored and go back underground as long as you're not attacking them. Try jetpacking on top of a building where you are out of reach and lurk - after a few minutes you should get a message saying 'swarm subsiding' and they will go underground again.
If not, then maybe you have a native aggressive hostile species. Find another moon to plunder.

Sebastian 2. NMS crabs 3. Crab People 4. What you caught in Magaluf

Happy New Year GGBCBWs! Hope 2019 is better than last year for you all (especially you, Chumbles, sounds like you've had a bad run of it over the period)! Now that's out of the way, time to bore you all! Stockton delivered on Monday, I actually found a shop that stocked thermal paste. It was like a New Years eve miracle! This meant that I could build the beast as soon as I got home. So I did. Results: Front: Back: It looks like a pride float and I couldn't be more proud. Runs like a dream too (which is always a bonus). This meant that much of New Years day was spent downloading updates/ games. I did manage a bit of Fallout 76 though. Still enjoying it but the enemy level seems to have rocketed in the main quest line. Previous quest, everything ~lv 10, current quest, everything nearby ~lvl 50. Good scaling Bethesda! I've just taken this as an excuse to explore more.

Conchord - you may have a gone a bit over board on the lights there. Impossible. It's scientifically proven that all the RGB increases performance by at least 0%! It still annoys me that the fan attached to the GPU didn't have RGB. Hence why I had to hide it and make everything 'push-pull'.

Good morning everyone. Happy New Year and all that shite.
I have returned back to work after 10 days off and I'm more tired than when I left.
I bought the Bioshock Collection over Christmas and absolutely rinsed through the first one on Boxing Day whilst the wife was out with her family.
I have many games now because of the festive period and absolutely no time to play them - wonderful.

Did that pc need three flux capacitors? I'm off home to mine after lunch. Myself.
Mrs Crank & child back Fri night. Let the gaming commence.
Anyone downloaded steep yet? I've played it before. The wing suits are hard. They're nothing like the one in just cause.

Morning all!
Boy dropped at nursery followed by coffee in a cafe. A good start to the day.
Now a tip-run is planned. It was all going so well...

Morning, what is a sensible price to pay for an Excel and games machine? I don't know if I'm looking for one with that many lights....

Morning, what is a sensible price to pay for an Excel and games machine? I don't know if I'm looking for one with that many lights.... You could probably get a decent 2k gaming machine for around £1.5k. Without making much effort I put the below together on PC parts picker: uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/6GLZdXThis is without Windows, or a mouse and keyboard. With a bit of time you could easily improve the specs and price probably. If you are happy to game at 1080p (I am fine with it for now) then you could shave off a few hundred, likewise stick a few hundred on for 4k gaming. For conchord's lighting setup you may need to discuss the matter first with the electric board to check they're OK with it.

£200 on a PS4, £10 on a calculator.

Any mid-range machine with at least 8 Rams inside it and a chip with a number (possibly 7) should be able to do Excel fine, including any VBA stuff, so long as you don't have too much SQL in the background.

stxdpr, Baby's pretty much nailed it. I'm just easily swayed by flashing lights. Hence my ex-addiction to fruit machines.

My mil bought me one of them scratchcard thingys and I am now richer by a wholesome £6. I've never bought one in my life because, well, gambling is a sin.
