Otherwise, alot of my office phone time has been spent playing diplomacy. Darkquark is a massive shit. Yes, yes he is. Playing Dip, or waiting for Norfolk to confirm to Fiery that his German tanks are welcome in Paris, so they can both ready up?

Well yes, it has mostly been sitting staring at the same screen waiting for Norfolk. Still, better than this place. RIP Faceless

Since games are expensive, do any of you simply ask for games for Christmas? I thought that I was easy to buy for because I like videogames but I had to abandon that notion after I was given a Harry Potter game for the DS, a Mensa Academy game and a cooking "game" that mainly lets you look up recipes. Now I feel bad that people wasted their money.

South Park: Fractured But Whole for £30 on Psn sale.
Worth it or wait til it’s cheaper down the line?

Now I feel bad that people wasted their money. I find it best to be specific and write a list of games from which I can be surprised. Is this presumptuous and showing a lack of gratitude for anyone giving time and thought to genuine surprise gift? Probably, but it prevents a waste of money on games I'm not going to play or already have.

I think that is true of anything you are genuinely interested in. Either suggest specific items or gift vouchers. The alternatives are horrific best guesses that suggest people you thought you knew really don't know you or duplicates of things you already have.
Booze is perhaps the one exception. you can't easily get booze wrong. Well you can but even bad booze can be turned into ok booze by the magic of drunkenness.

The gifter can get something at the right price, the giftee gets something they actually want, and it's all done with minimal effort and thought for both parties.

Never ask for games for Christmas unless you specify the game, the edition of the game and the platform otherwise it will be am awkward Christmas, just saying "Tomb Raider" will cause a lot of grief. Yes I like a lot of the Tomb raider games

I wouldn't say anything nasty to your face and I'd drink a bottle of white wine, but I would be a bit disappointed.
