There is an old blog joke slightly repurposed. I've been waiting years to do that one Harking back to the good ol days when life was so much simpilar? Beard Of Bees (GRHSIP in pieces) made the claim that the Blu Ray of Ratatouille was reference quality for the picture on Blu Rays. Since then I have been waiting to use the joke about the food. It seems to be very much a 1970s food though.

Pretty much the only way to ruin a potato. I don't like the texture of the potato in them. It is weird. And potato skins upset my stomach. I accept this is not really acceptable to some people. My mother for example.

Hey, ratatouille heads! I also need some advice from the hive mind.
My sister in law would like to know what she should get for my birthday. I'd like to give her links to games on Amazon, as it's the easiest to order from for her and she can see what it is and silently judge my taste in games.
However, in the recent post-Christmas e-shop sales bonanza I sort of got everything I want for now on the Switch, with the exception of Diablo III, which is at the moment again cheaper on the e-shop than the physical copy on Amazon, and Tales of Vesperia.
I have also just managed to purchase by phone an official replacement battery for my poor neglected 3DS, which I haven't touched since I got the Switch almost two years ago because it had a wonky battery and a full SD card that can't be upgraded anymore and the Switch is better.
So, do I ask her for 3DS games (Detective Pikachu, the Luigi's Mansion remake, Persona Q/Q2)? I would rather hope that Nintendo would bring these games sometime to the Switch instead, but I suppose I might be waiting for a long time.
OR
Do I ask her for Diablo III because that way I don't have to pay for it myself and Tales of Vesperia?
AND/OR
Do I ask her to preorder Final Fantasy X/X2 and/or XII for me because I will get those anyway?
Bear in mind that my backlog is something terrible to behold, so the last option would buy me a bit of time but wouldn't give her the satisfaction of knowing that I actually got something in the post on the birthday.
tldr: First world problems.

Afternoon!
Congrats Shenguin! Although I can't think of much worse than living in a house with two kids. Can't be sharing my toy fund. Also, you know, the 'register' situation.
Ganes! The backlog is being chipped away at a nice pace (which is good as the Steam sale meant a couple more got added in). Finished Rise of Tomb Raider yesterday, 100% complete too, as my OCD wouldn't let me leave a collectible behind. This meant I could start on the next one, whittled down to Shenmue 1/2 or Far Cry 5. Chose Far Cry 5 and went for Faith's region first, not sure whether it makes any difference which order you do so just went for which looked more fun. Destroying the 'Father the Redeemer' statue was too much of a pull.
TV! Been powering through TV shows/ films whilst on nights. Finally got around to watching Train to Busan (4 *s) and Watchmen (also 4 *s) and watched Polar on Netflix (slightly lower 4 *s). Then found Friday Night Dinner which is right up my street. Been howling like a loon, raising some eyebrows in the sparsely populated office.
tl;dr, I like my shifts. Fuck all to do when in, lots of time off when not.
