What's the point of couscous?

It's a fairly neutral filler that takes flavours pretty well. Made from the same flour as pasta.
I quite like couscous especially with fairly hot chillies.

Sorr... oops, nearly... I hate it; there are few foods I dislike, but that stuff bleah! I prefer pasta or bread as a carrier and decent pasta or bread tastes good. But each to their own. I cannot eat brains - or tripe. I had a partner who came from Blackburn and tried to convince me by cooking it for me. Unfortunately it was frozen and the vinegar hadn't come out of it and it had an unwanted crunch from not having thawed completely. God, it ranks as the third worst meal I've eaten; I was responsible for the second spot. The worst was at a Relais Routiers in Lot-et-Garonne A nice little place where I found out what bûlots were... Yep, giant snails so tough no knife, fork or teeth could penetrate the skins; I managed one. Definitely a taste I saw no point in acquiring ... btw the potage du jour was wonderful, but the steak frites... well, in over 30 years of travelling through France it is still the most horrible I've seen. Bits of it were blue with a faint green tinge and it was more sinew than meat; and yes, so tough no knife, fork or teeth could penetrate it. One of our number was so hungry he rolled his up and partook of it like a sword swallower. And I love French cuisine, steak bleu, escargot, grenouilles, the lot... but that meal *brrrrr*

Whelks? Despite growing up in a fishing town where they were brought in by the boatload they remain one seafood I absolutely can't stand. Ugly and rubbery, and haunted by childhood stories of what would happen if you didn't dissect out the 'worm' before eating. Sending them to France is the best thing to do with them!
My face is ugly and rubbery yada yada

What's the point of couscous? It's made from semolina so possibly cook it in milk for semolina pudding as an option.

Oh gods I'm being punished - Nursey coming with her special treatment later and now semolina; when I was a small boy I ate like a vacuum cleaner, but school dinners semolina was the devil's food... Just coffee I think

I’m still not convinced that “Nursey” isn’t just some woman that Chumbles pays to come round and beat him.

Hello all. A lovely sunny, still morning in Sussex. The morning mist sitting in the Downs as the sun rises.
And I'm back at home, feeling absolutely rotten. Supposed to be going away on Friday! I will beat this thing.
More Odyssey, and I've made my way to Crete, though it isn't called Crete yet. Cleared out an entire fort without getting caught - I'm kind of a big deal...

Before children had been invented Mrs Crank and were in Paris sitting outside a bar that sold food. It was near our hotel so thought we'd give it a go as it was always really busy. Some guy at the next table saw we were struggling with the menu a bit and offered to translate. He read the specials to us and apologised as "the bone marrow is finished..." Nae bother pal. The food was amazing though. TV. Penultimate True Detective. Ooh. Games. Nah really. Deliveries for a pal, selling a dupe and attempting stunt jumps. amipal I read that as 'Mario Odyssey' What Crete? There's no Crete. Oh... Tapioca. No. Whelks. No. Somolina. No

I watched an awesome episode of the Punisher last night, no games sadly. I think they have cancelled Punisher and Jessica Jones now, although the latter has a new series coming out.
Weather feels quite spring like now, few daffodils outside the work building.

I've got 'Soul Man' by Sam & Dave running on a loop in my head. I'm not complaining. Yesterday afternoon it was 'Eye Level' by the Simon Park Orchestra, no complaints there either. Could someone update my spreadsheet please.
OTTM: The lasagne I had last night has 'gone straight through me'. Foreign muck.

I always hope they'll open comments on one of their long reads so that I can immediately scroll down and make a ill-informed comment based on nothing more than the headline.
