I didn't see the latest episode of HDM either, but if I'm interpreting the preview from last time correctly there is a scene in there that's not all that helpful for anyone who's experiencing the loss of a pet. I remember that this got me good in the book, I can't remember it from the Hollywood film, presumably they avoided it like they avoided every difficult and meaningful scene.

On the music side of things, you could just use Apple Music or Spotify. Or if like me you have lots of obscure music that isn't on those (you probably wouldn't have heard of them), Apple Music lets you upload your private personal mp3s to the internet cloud to then stream anywhere you like. Its a top service that I make use of extensively. Plus you can then download said music to your phone, or listen to it on other computers with an internet connection.
No idea if this requires a Macintosh computer of some kind or not though, I suspect it might.
I also have an old Cambridge Audio network music player that I did some of the nerd stuff mentioned above with, but in the end who really gives a fuck? Now I just listen to my music streamed in low quality and through the laptop speakers and don't care.

That Hollywood version was the biggest pile of ****, it still makes me angry to this day that they made it.

Thanks for the sympathies all, will see how he fares tonight, he's had a good two and three quarter years with me and hopefully been happy, certainly more chilled out now than when I rescued him after training and being cared for properly. Fully intend to have the rest of the week off if he's euthanised on Wednesday, already cancelling appointments etc. just in case.

Morning jabronies, My Switch arrived ahead of schedule on Saturday, just before I went to the Christmas market in Edinburgh. So, much of my afternoon was spent looking at £5 bananas and other overpriced tat while itching to get back to play Pokemon and Mario Kart. I decided to play Pokemon in basic Japanese. I'm nowhere near the level required to comprehend what's going on but, if the ghost of bloggie past is to be believed, this will only enhance the experience. The second Switch, which I ordered without the £50 code I intended to use and so promptly cancelled, also arrived. Fortunately, my housemate came in on Monday complaining about not being able to find a decent Switch deal and a deal was struck, saving me a trip to the post office. From user to dealer just like that. I'm confused about the banana link, it loops to the same page. Are you alluding to Destry's canary yellow hard drive? Bargain if you can get it for a fiver. Also, you know that you don't have to bring your own bananas to Mario Kart, do you? |

So, it could be all I need is one of these NAS things, and could then stream from that through my Roberts 93i radio, which has a good speaker. Alternatively, a basic HDD and spend the money at the other end, on something like the onkyo, hooked up to my proper speakers. Sheep2 does the synology have an app for selecting tracks etc through your phone? Can you create playlists / shuffle all, or can you only select a folder to play? No. Mostly I play Radiohead live concerts in full without shuffle. I am working through an enormous number of them in order. My main conclusion is Radiohead have played too many concerts. I also have a load of Thom & Atoms For Peace and Jonny. The answer is there are apps and you can create playlists, but I do not do so. |
