"he wasn’t used to guns – really, that was not his forte". No shit.

I don't know. He had actually set the gun trap so it worked.

That suggests a certain level of competence.
Maybe his problem was with doors, or accessing his home once he had booby trapped it?

Well, yes, his use of the gun proved a certain effectiveness at using guns. Maybe it wasn't entirely the result he was going for, but that could have been because he was bad at disabling traps before he opened the door, rather than because he was bad at guns.

One for the Darwins, maybe.

If only the guy had put a few more hours into Spy vs Spy in the 80s, he'd probably still be alive.

Good morning
It is cold this morning, very cold.
Games - no Films - Last Christmas - better than it should have been, enjoyed it. 4 stars. Tv - caught up on the mandalorian. Superb, really enjoyed the 3rd episode. It’s really captured the space western theme and looks superb. And episode 4 with Gina Carano...
*wistful sigh*
She could beat me up whenever she wanted.

I'm staying home and playing video games all day. And drinking coffee.

I see the new sailor hunting game is getting a lot of love at the other place.

Hello! I am not working again today. It's the best. Ganes: Apex. A few more wins clocked up. It is such a well balanced game. Telly: Veep and the Andy Murray documentary on Prime. Andy Murray is my favourite all time sportsperson without a moustache. With moustache, obviously it's Willie Miller. (Willie also takes top spot in the perm category). OTTM: has anyone got a mass storage system for music that they like? Ie something for the middle aged man with a phobia of streaming, lots of cds, but can no longer be arsed getting up to change them over manually. crankcaller did you not mention you had a Brennan? Is it worth the money?

I have just ripped everything to my hard drive and then just link to a Bose speaker.

I have just ripped everything to my hard drive and then just link to a Bose speaker. You mean desktop PC? Or if it's a separate hard disk how do you interface with it? I am not sure about the charge rifle in Apex - only useful if the baddie is standing still. I like how there is a mod for every gun now though. Eva 8 with double tap is the best.

Everything ripped to desktop PC and SDD on there which is linked to my Amazon pad through the Bose Soundtouch app. The music then comes out the Bose speaker. You will need an internet connection though.

RollingEscargot, I have been thinking about getting an Onkyo TX8520 to stream music. It's basically an amp with a digital player and an internet streamer. It does all the smart stuff, and has front and rear USB ports for a harddrive to play local MP3s or FLACs or whatever. Plenty of traditional analogue audio inputs as well as a couple of digital. It can be run from a remote or well-reviewed smart phone app. It's significantly cheaper than the Brennan B2, which apparently is a well-programmed but pricey Raspberry pi. It doesn't have many bells and whistles, and I've heard the audio quality questioned (though that's probably audiophile BS). It's advantage is the key purpose it's designed to fulfill; to rip CDs automatically to its harddrive, and to function as a CD player, amp, and harddrive player. Even then, it's advised if you're just ripping large numbers of CDs to connect an external CD drive via USB to speed up the read times. As I'm also getting old, my plan is to organise better my ripped files, rip some more where there are gaps (using external drive and a laptop), and play from the harddrive. The Onkyo seems much better suited to this, and offers more functionality, than the Brennan. I believe Sheep2 is heavily invested in hardware for streaming music.

Obviously I will pair it with the Seagate 2TB expansion harddrive, which has previously been confirmed (following some hard lobbying from Destry, I seem to recall) as the Blog's current preferred external harddrive.

Remember to get pure copper wires with gold-plated contacts. You're looking at roughly £50 a metre.

You're looking at roughly £50 a metre. If you don't mind the quality of what you listen to, and you hate yourself and hate music. £150 per yard or gtfo.

Not me mate. I did buy a 1TB Western Digital HDD in canary yellow to link to my PS4 though.

OK, bear with me as I am fucking useless at tech stuff, even consumer electronics. So, Sheggers, you are saying you get this this Onkyo thing; rip your CDs as FLACS onto an external HDD (for the sake of argument, let's say something like the canary yellow 1TB Western Digital HDD); connect it to the Onkyo with 3 miles of plantinum fibre cables; connect your speakers to the Onkyo; and it'll read your FLACS and play them in the form of audio music? Presumably with some sort of app or web interface so you can choose what you are playing? Is that the general idea?

I'm all about Seagate Ironwolf in a NAS these days. I've got 3 expansion slots left on the NAS. I was looking at another 10TB HD for it. But they are more expensive in the sales than they were in the Summer.
