Tomorrow I'll be mostly lugging some york stones round the back garden to weigh down the trampoline.
Who wants.... Oh forget it.

Morning. My patio heater is still on it's side since last storm. I will put some extra stakes in the giraffes though.

I have never watched a studio ghibi movie. Is there an order? I think my daughter would live them.

Edinburgh for the rugby today. 7 hours of drinking before the match. I beg you, keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

One of those rare occasions where you can't help but admire the Scottish. Rolling there, getting worried about having to cut his day time drinking down to only 7 hours.

V & A. Robot exhibition in its last weekend.
Won't get a chance to go to the other unfortunately. In a place called "the brothy" on Whitehall St. Incredible chicken & rice soup and a great chicken/avacado sandwich.

I have never watched a studio ghibi movie. Is there an order? I think my daughter would live them. For me, Howl's Moving Castle which is stunningly good, and next to the Snowman my favourite animated movie. (and Bakshi's Lotr if it had been finished ...)

(and Bakshi's Lotr if it had been finished ...) Howl doesn't get added until 1st April. Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, two of my favourites, will be available from 1st March.

I have never watched a studio ghibi movie. Is there an order? I think my daughter would live them. What Felice said. There isn't really an order, although The Cat Returns is a pseudo-sequel to Whisper of the Heart, but the former is coming to Netflix before the latter, which goes to show that one can absolutely watch them independently. The first Netflix batch contains the three that I would always recommend to newcomers and that are suitable for all ages: My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky, just as Felice said. My first Ghibli film was (the pre-Ghibli) Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and I still think it was a good introduction, but it's not coming until March, either. Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke are all spectacular, although the latter has some violent scenes and is maybe not suitable for younger kids. Same goes for Grave of the Fireflies which is difficult to watch at any age, but it's not included in the Netflix collection anyway and certainly is not the one to start with. There isn't really a bad one in the whole lot. Of the ones I've watched I can see that some people might get a bit confused by Ponyo, but all in all they are just really good films, not only some of the best animated films but some of the best films generally.

Porco Rosso confused the hell out of me when I first started watching it but, you go with the flow.
