Oh! It's a thumbnail-link to a bigger image! I'm good at the internetz, I is. I assumed you were suggesting Crank wouldn't be able to read the chart due to being from Glasgow. You daft racist. i just assume that for anyone north of London.

For what it's worth, BMI charts were designed to understand populations' heights and weights and estimate general health, sixty years ago. They're utterly inappropriate to use for estimating an individual's healthy weight. The fact that our health system, and many others, still uses them in an intellectual and public health disgrace.
They particularly underestimate the range of healthy weights for tall well-built people, especially men.
I'm still a fat bap, but not because of where I appear on that chart.
God, it makes me angry that it's still used for individuals.

Okay. Games: None TV: Doctor Who; meh. Currently watching Stir Crazy. A while since I'd seen it. It's mildly amusing. Also just saw an advert for a 120 weekly part Spitfire mk !a model kit. £9.99 per issue (Issue 1 for £1.99). Yup. That's nearly £1200 and over two years of your life building a 1:18 scale model of a Spitfire. Sounds fun. Apropos of nothing, I wonder how amipal is getting on with his HMS Victory model from the old Guardian Chatterbox days...

I agree with what you say but, for me, it is a useful tool to set a goal, me and the pm* were overweight and over the last couple of years have moved into the "healthy" range and without a target I think it would have been much more difficult. It also allows me to make a spiffing graph in Excel charting the progress towards said target. <edit>*Preferred Mammal, just for Destry.

Felice is Jennifer Arcuri and I claim my five pounds.
