Ha, contractually Sky can't make my broadband speed any lower than the 2 Mbps it has been for the last five years. Who's laughing now, eh? Oh.
Good news was on the horizon, as Openreach have finally discovered my section of the North East and were installing fibre to the door. I'm guessing C-virus has put a hold on that though.

Afternoon all, still here, still no symptoms, and still no caser from Jeff.
Games: Died about four times trying to do a corrupted zone in Dinobots, but before that managed to get the last Tallneck hacked and got a nice trophy for it. OTTM: Watched The Class of '92 on Prime - it was boring. OTTRM: People rinsed Sainsbury's yesterday - no booze, nothing I really wanted / needed. Fcuk people in this country still stockpiling. Cunts. Internet is creaking here today in Brumland, 9 down, 2 up.

The last non-medical visitor on 11th March was my hairdresser (well, minder, then). I asked her how she was, when passing on some information on where the self-employed can get help... got this reply
"Thanks for information been a nightmare Chloe has the virus been horrific I can tell you ...
Ambulance came last night she couldn’t breath but we still at home wasn’t worth going to hospital they said ... if it gets worse then yes have to go in."
Really upsetting as Chloe is just turned 17...

Guess who got a second guardian pick! What have you ever done? Been counting my eight Guardian Picks. Bored now. Nine It's fair to say I am pretty pleased. Especially as I don't post positive things on every Nintendo article just to get a pick.

I get enough for 4K video. About 33 MBS I think.
It occasionally seems to upgrade itself. I have Sky Fibre. I lost control of my account some years ago when I switched to online billing. I basically have no idea what I am actually paying for. I do see the DD each month.
I know I have sky HD + phone + broadband and I was paying less than when I had a BT phone.

I had a free Audible download ages ago so got Capital by Thomas Piketty since it's too thick to read. As it's about 48 hours long, it's also too long to listen too. Martin Jarvis does a lovely job on it though. Ambitious. I have Lord Of The Rings on audio CD. It is really good obviously, but is 54 hours on 46 CDs. So it is quite a commitment. I usually listen to it in the car. It is great for long journeys. Though It's not ideal if you have to drive round for another 51 hours just to find out the ending.

Hey, someone's got to throw that Guardian Pick Team a bone. You are also underestimating the raw power of my JRPG comments. In any case, you learnt your black arts from me. Show some respect.

Don't make me come up there and...ah..I haven't thought this through have I?

Really upsetting as Chloe is just turned 17... Horrific. Hope she won't end up in hospital. Just goes to show that the lockdown didn't come a moment too soon. I had worried (as one does) how the neighbours are coping, particularly the deeply unpleasant elderly couple on one side and whether I should offer them any help with shopping (although they have a car and are completely mobile). Today I got my answer when the husband accosted me this morning to claim that our bathroom overflow pipe was leaking onto his roof (he didn't explain how this was possible, given that for this to happen our bathroom would have to be flooded. It's even more unlikely as the pipe is nowhere near his roof). Can't really say that he has got the hang of this whole social distancing thing. I didn't even bother to explain to him that atm it isn't wise or even legal to get anyone in to have a look this (it's not been much use in the past when he has accused plumbers of somehow being in cahoots with us when they couldn't find a fault). So much for looking out for one another.

So much for looking out for one another. Thanks. Don't open the door, there's something far more wrong with him than Covid-19, he's an irredeemably stupid, selfish old bastard. He's dangerous because he's obviously a sandwich short of a picnic aka, he should have "Attic space to let" on his forehead. Ref: shopping. Don't. You're self-isolating for a reason. how's he going to pay you? Bank transfer? More likely used, old, unhygienic £20 notes which might as well be Monopoly* money as they go out of circulation soon; and because he's a bundle of selfish spite, Covid Colin (as he will be known) will pass on Covid 19 to you and yours justifying it as a proper punishment for not fixing your quantum overflow** **Quantum, because in some universe somewhere it MUST be magically flying across to his roof... *

My top spot has gone ... the local network has tanked with a reduction to single channel
Speedtest.net returns 94.4mbps... it's a fairer test of the service delivery, as Which's test, as I understand it factors in usage by other network providers... =28ms 24mbps!! 27.4mbps; my upstream is faster than my download speed by this

Latency 25 ms, Download 51.1 Mbps, Upload 15.6 Mbps. Plusnet, somewhere in some really tiny backwater town in the West Country, over wi-fi on a different floor from the router, and not sure if anyone else is using it.

Kane is in Croydon and, I think, uses Vodafone. Or a couple of cans and a piece of string, who knows? I'm sure he doesn't. Update the spreadsheet with these facts and he can tell me if I'm wrong. Watchchat: LED watch still working. I am amazed, it's older than Shenguin's 'new' pants.

Re: speed test That Which? tester seems to show the highest speed attained during the test, rather than the average.
With Which? I got 16.1 Mbps
With speedtest.net, 15.75 Mbps (which is an average)
