Pyjakson would no doubt agree with you about Bazza, Sheep2 . He was a good player, but I never got the hype - some of the pundits up here (presumably his mates) still try to shoehorn him into all-time top 10s and the like. I mainly saw him playing for Scotland, where he would stop the ball, turn, shout, point, turn again, point again, eventually pass the ball. Always slowing the game down for the sake of this performance. Best Scottish player of his generation by a long way, but that's not saying much with the dross we had at the time. He probably had the ability to be much better, but I don't think he had the attitude and professionalism to reach the heights of his English contemporaries. And I can't comment on him without mentioning his love of a pain killing injection and pickled onion monster munch too. I'm pretty sure Barry had a serious back injury that ruined his time at Blackburn. It didn't help much. I think he could have achieved more. If he had been fitter he could have played for a regular top 6 PL side not lower midtable ones. He was a big one for the booze. I don't think that endeared him to all managers. Fantastic for us in 2009-10 and 2010-11. Got us to a top 10 finish with Cameron Jerome as our only scorer. We had Christian Benitez (RIP)as well, but he went to pieces every time he had a shot. Brilliant in the League cup final as well. He held us together in the second half when Arsenal threatened to dominate. He'd broken a rib in the first few minutes as well. Plus the clip on Koscielny after we scored the winner On the other hand as a person he is pretty much a complete twat I understand. |

I'm too tired for witty wordplay. Like every day I checked the Ocado website late at night for free delivery slots and managed to snag one of three slots between 10pm and midnight next Wednesday. Then it took me almost an hour to actually do the shopping because I was already falling asleep and found it very difficult to concentrate on what we needed. There was already a warning that editing an order probably won't work. By the time I was finished the other slots were gone.
Most things that we needed were there, some with weird restrictions: I couldn't get more than one item of my lunchtime sushi even if I can't see anyone bulk buying such a perishable item. The sushi box was also somehow connected to the Pref. Mam.'s tub of olives which he likes for lunch and of which only one was allowed. How middle class does a retailer have to be to ration olives and sushi as essential items? Houmous too, I guess.
No restrictions on alcohol, took full advantage of that. The Pref. Mam. uses paracetamol to control his aches and pains, so I was a bit worried that he might compensate with alcohol for the fact that paracetamol is in very short supply. He phoned his GP surgery today and fortunately a doctor is going to write him a prescription, hopefully we can get this delivered by the pharmacy.
There were hardly any bargains available so the shopping was a lot more expensive than usual, but on the other hand we are shopping less often. Whether it was the higher than usual cost of the groceries or something else, at the end the Pref. Mam.'s card which is the default payment wouldn't work. Luckily I had no problems paying with my own card from a different account. Phew! Another week to ten days of survival secured.
