Zoom is an app, like Houseparty, designed to enable friends to stay in touch virtually in group video chat.
Presumably a zoom pub is the technological equivalent of the old Afterbox Arms... a virtual 'spoons minus the tacky carpets

Zoom pub is where you set up with a group of mates on zoom and all get pissed. Sort of together, but in isolation.
It's better than drinking properly alone.

It's the opposite of a Chatterbox meet up: Strangers who have only met online meet up in real life to get pissed together and pretend it's ok
People you know do not meet up, except online, but all get pissed and pretend it's ok
Technically you could do it with internet strangers, I think, though I have not.
It's also hideously embarrassing for the first two pints - just like meeting chatterboxers.
But after the first ten minutes it's ok.
