Hi Apparently Blake's 7 (s1-4, 52 episodes) is available on Youtube, as is Terry Nation's other 70's classic Survivors, depicting the plight of a group of people who have survived an apocalyptic plague pandemic, which was accidentally released by a Chinese scientist and quickly spread across the world via air travel. Why would anyone stream Blake's 7 rather than watching their complete DVD collection of it?
OTTM: Late Junction on BBC iPlayer R3 from 27th March has some good stuff on it, including Johnny Greenwood related stuff, and and excellent Rachael Dadd* track. I guess the Radiohead trufans have already heard it though. The programme's only available until Monday. Worth a listen, if you like that sort of shit.
*Never heard of her before, but it pressed my button.
Also Servalan.
I'll be standing straight up in the recovery room if anyone needs me.

Just because you identify with him, know thyself. Every time I think about Servalan I end up knowing myself, but that's quite enough about that. I idolised Blake, loved Orac, and identified with Avon, just like everyone else who has ever watched it. |

Of course I have Blake's 7 on DVD... Mind you, if any of you played a Star Wars: The Old Republic - Sith Assassin, you will have heard Paul Darrow's voiceover for Overseer Harkun. Jacqueline Pearce was only cast for one episode, but the dynamic tension between her and Avon sustained the series. But it's longevity was shackled by the godawful SFX, which had some hilarious lags between sound and the effect happening ... I have decided to fight a bit harder to stay alive: I want to see this... |
