I just play stuff from my Prime music subscription through my Alexa device, perfectly good enough. You've been standing too close to the band's speakers ... ear-banging as well as head banging. I did actually stand next to Lemmy's bass bin when Motörhead played a small club in Essex, loud and he was one scary looking dude. <edit>It was in November 1977, a while a go. |

I have a Cambridge Audio digital streaming box that can play FLACs over the network, an artisan headphone amp made by a one-man operation, a massive pair of open ear cans and a high quality USB DAC.
I usually listen to music streamed from Apple Music through my laptop speakers these days, its just easier.

I have a Bose speaker which cost about £130 which I use when I Bluetooth my Amazon Fire tablet to it, my fancier CD player remains gathering dust in the corner of the living room.

I play my music off mp3s on my PC, through my Asus Xonar D2X's soundcard SP/dif sockets direct to my beautiful Denon RCDN9 CEOL (CD Music Receiver with Wi-Fi and Ethernet Connectivity) and Mission LX-2 Bookshelf Speakers... Good enough for my ears - I got fed up with replacing stuff every few years and it seemed logical to play everything through a common source, apart from the nut-crunchingly expensive Mission Aero Surround Sound gizmo under the LG 55EG960V Curved OLED 3D TV. Buy once and buy the best you can afford  Don't chuck your physical copies away... as crankcaller says, even if you're not into manically storing AND cataloguing them (once a librarian...) chuck them in a big box and store them. If you're short on space then, as you're not going to sell the physical copies just put thee discs themselves in, say, a AmazonBasics CD / DVD Binder 400 Disc Capacity = £17 bar a 1P...  I have 5 of them, 3 full... mainly my 2.5tb of audiobooks..  |

I have a 132,834 solo Fortnite wins, and a complete Bang and Olufsen audio system and Atlas power cables, networked through my entire house, including all 3 sheds, but I only drink instant coffee (fairtrade), because even I'm not that big a cunt. |

Bloody hell, you're made of sterner stuff than I - over 100 decibels and I feel ill; much higher and I AM ill; I went to a gig at Ladbroke Grove and saw Argent... just before their single Hold Your Head Up got into the charts in '71. They were the support - we were there for Mott the Hoople.. probably the best band live vs. their studio stuff. But I was violently ill on the way home, delicate flower, that I am. <edit> Speaking of which, I got to go = after today's visit by the Stasi, I have to zonk out. Later |
