Greetings, assembled audiophile coffee wankers. Today went so well that I fear some bad karma may be in store somewhere down the line. But what the hell, let me enjoy the moment. This afternoon I managed to secure one of those fabled Animal Crossing Limited Edition Switches for the grandchildren for the recommended retail price. Yes, this thing: They are currently going for £500 and more on Ebay and for over £600 at Jeff's, in some cases more than double for what I paid. At 16:26 the Nintendo UK store send me an email alert that it would be "back in stock soon". Clicked on the embedded link, didn't work - "too many requests". Panicked, remembered I had left the tab of the store website open, logged in and was able to put that elusive thing into the basket, then went through the checkout. Confirmation email arrived a few minutes later at 16:38. By which time the console was already marked as being out of stock again. This after Pref. Mam. and I had just been talking about the eldest granddaughter getting very frustrated by being in lockdown in a small house with three younger siblings. They were supposed to move to a bigger house but the pandemic put a (temporary) stop to that. It was cramped before, but now the twins have started toddling and whenever they can't be in the garden because of the weather it's become intolerable. I quickly did another round of shopping - Pro Controller for the adults, digital download of Mario Kart (don't even want to think about what the twins would do with a physical cartridge - it's bad enough that they keep hiding the telephone), little plastic steering wheels for the kids, online family subscription. The bare necessities. And with this we are opting out of Xmas and birthday presents for the foreseeable future. But this stuff is needed now. This comes right after I managed to put in an order for a trampoline, another sought after commodity. I feel that that "Granny of the Year" award is probably in the bag.

I rarely drink coffee and if I wish to listen to music, I just plug some headphones in to my preferred device. I'm a simple man, who likes a bit of murder. OTTM: I just had a shower. Before I combed my hair down, my hair really did look like this:-

I ripped all my CDs years ago, but there's no way I'm dumping the physical media.
Cool story. Rich and compelling.

A wee bit of rise of the tomb raider earlier. Stealth kills are the best.

It was cramped before, but now the twins have started toddling and whenever they can't be in the garden because of the weather it's become intolerable. You could try building them a cave, which is something we used to do in the kids home I grew up in at Xmas. Use your old sheets and string them up around your home as best you can then hide some cave monsters/toys throughout your home, then hide some treasure to find and lower the lighting where possible, great fun. OTTM - I think I'll have a large jug of coffee! The first two SW movies are in the bag, thought I'd best take a break so I don't burn out. Here's the official chronology list courtesy of [https://www.tomsguide.com/news/how-to-watch-the-star-wars-movies-in-order] Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace (1999) Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones (2002) Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (2005) Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope (1977) Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi (1983) Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens (2015) Star Wars: Episode VIII —The Last Jedi (2017) Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

I'm on the worst social Zoom call ever for a birthday party.
But I am drunk and wearing a dress, so that's my two positives.

There's a very noisy three-cat standoff going on in the garden. Some very cross animals.

My brother and I were expert cave dwellersbuilders when we were kids. Problem with the grandkids is, they don't live near (and atm neither of us can visit). The twins are still so young that one constantly needs to keep an eye on them and they've just learnt to walk which is great but makes that task more difficult. I don't know whether it's always like that with twins ( amipal probably has an opinion) but these two are extremely competitive for food, attention, and affection (in that order). Not easy to live with. Their house was already very compact when they were a family of three, but now they've doubled that head count. Like so many others their father has to work from home atm and needs peace and quiet as every other week he works night shifts. They are lucky to have a small garden, but when it rains all one can do is climb over the twins' toys in the living room. For this reason I'm just so happy that the eldest granddaughter will be able to run around in a virtual world where she can meet me and probably also some of her friends that she hasn't seen for so many weeks.

Not easy to live with. To be honest, I never felt any real competition with my brother for anything. But then I've never known what life is like growing up as an only-child or having older/younger siblings! To me, it was normal. Not very helpful, I know!
