I'll chuck in a few quid if it means I don't have to come back here.

Hello I have been sitting outside in the dark, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Percy Pig meteor shower. Unfortunately low cloud and the neighbours' security lights switching on and off at a sparrow's fart means no luck so far. I will persevere for a while (at least long enough to finish my gin and tonic) As you were. Remember mashing the 'A' button if you see one and collecting the star fragments on the beach tomorrow morning. Have you had a visit from Celeste tonight? Meteor showers are an absolute certainty when she's in town. She'll probably also smash the neighbour's security lights if you ask nicely.

Yes, but that wasn't the question. The question was which of the listed languages had the most native speakers. (As I used to tell my students: make sure that you answer the actual question instead of the question you'd like to answer.)

In other news, I'm really looking forward to Kamala Harris wiping the floor with Mike Pence in the vice-presidential debate.

Okay. G&T drunk. No Percy Pig meteors observed. Time to move that particular ambition to my 'Fuck It' list.*
* It's getting to be a long list.

Precisely the problem, if they'd done the homework properly then they would have added the answer in the multiple. The fact that they didn't tells me there was no correct answer that could be given. edit: though in hindsight by the way the question is written I understand your point

Ah the old 'the wrong question' routine.
I have a relative who throws tantrums whenever they aren't doing well in a game of trivial pursuit. "No, my answer was right, it's the question that's wrong"
