I'm here to vent.
I'm staying with my mum and dad.
The shower is leaking into the kitchen below, the dishwasher isn't draining, and now the kitchen sink is leaking into the cabinet underneath. Will my dad call a plumber? No ... His attitude seems to be that it was fine before I got here.

God help me, I have a serious question - I am going to replace, upgrade my big rig... 'Goliath' is long in the tooth... tbh I would have probably already replaced it, but the case is phenomenal - 4 x 150mm fans and 1 x 250mm fan means she's almost silent. Assume you have £3k to spend, it has to be w10 pro what would you do? Bear in mind I want a clean build i.e. no useless trial software; there must be at least 1 x hdd bay empty for the WD4003FZEX... Chumbles It depends on the graphics card you want. Plus do you want to reuse the case? Also do you need a new monitor I'd be very reluctant to go all high end as you pay a massive premium for it www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-x299-pc/Is more than I would spend. I'd lower the cost of the graphics card. Probably step down a level on the processor as well. www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-z490-pc/ at most for me You can play around on PC Specialist, Mesh or Chillblast to get what you want. whenever I have done it the prices always come out similar. If you want more fans it doesn't add much. I'd definitely recommend a big HD. Or 2. That way you can replace old drives before they fail. |

Cheers, Sheep - I'll look more this evening; the Antec series aren't used in configuration engines by the look of it; the P280 is the modern equivalent, but the build quality isn't as good. I'm loathe to shift to a less sturdy build, and I think the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2, 80+ GOLD 850W, Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode, is still more than good enough, as is the MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8GB GDDR5X Graphics Card. I think upgrading the MOBO, Processor would be best to something that would support a couple of Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 might be best... Chores time 😤 |

Motherboard & processor & 32 GB RAM will see you fine for years.
There's no point in a graphics card that outperforms your monitor.
Or a monitor that outperforms your graphics card.
