Plus Waterstones squeezed out all the independent bookshops that they could. So it is a bit rich for them to squeal when Amazon puts the squeeze on them. I do like Waterstones though. The rich smell of books. Especially in Brum or Piccadilly.

It seems pretty 100% unfair, male puberty certainly turned me into a musclebound powerhouse. My leg muscles can lift my entire torso and larger than average head.

Bookfinder dot com is a good website too, for new and second hand.

Why do you have an electric bike in that case?

It just seems like a bad follow on from a Andy Kaufman prank.

I like Waterstones.
I used to like Borders. A treasure-trove of cheap paperbacks not readily available elsewhere.
I think on balance, I like second hand bookshops the most. Nice and musty. I'm not crazy about the smell of books generally though. The anti-Kindle book sniffers are an odd bunch.

I loved Hudsons on New St/Stephenson St. A proper wabbit rarren of a bookshop over 2-3 buildings and 4 or 5 basements. Nicely ramshackle. I used to go past t it on the way to and from school every day.
Also Foyles in the 1980s in London was a proper marvel. An amazing purchasing system designed purely to intimidate potential customers.
Waterstones is a bit too orderly.

www.abebooks.co.uk/Abe books are good for signed copys and things. Got a digitally ? printed book for under a tenner that was selling for £60-100 due to its rarity.

I still find it hard to forgive Jeff for what he did to Lovefilm.

Why do you have an electric bike in that case? Because I like the respect I get from fellow Biker gang people, the little nod of acknowledgment at the traffic lights, its exhilarating.

I think I dislike Jeff Stelling more than Jeff Bezos. He seems so polite and well spoken, yet he uses these gifts, and his status a sports presenter, to sell betting products.
It doesn't sit right with me.

Was expecting a Graham Linehan comment, but I guess this will do. I wonder if any celebs will dare speak out against this?

You can't say anything these days. The police have stopped policing the streets and now only police what people say on Twitter.

My advice to myself is "think it, don't say it". It's a mine field nowadays as to what you can and can't say.

Ownership of ProBoards is attributed to a mysterious 'person' going only by the name of Patrick Clinger.
