The first LotR film was my favourite. I enjoyed the second one. I did not particularly like the third.

I didn't really like The Hobbit at all. I liked the song by the dwarves at the start, and hoped there would be more singing throughout. But not so ...
I also liked Smaug's big cave of loot but I didn't like Martin Freeman, just acting like ... Martin Freeman. And all the chasing by the orcs. The Hobbit - the book - was almost an orc free zone from what I remember.
