I read a thing last week from an Aussie chef who said use mayo instead of butter when pan frying sandwiches as it browns better. Yet to try this.
Sheep buys his butter by the gramme?
I do not. I buy it by the packet. But if you have different sizes it makes sense to compare the price per gram.
So £2 for 250g of Yeo Valley compares very neatly to £4 for 500g of Lurpak Spreadable. Though if Faceless were posh he could get the Lurpak for £3.75 a pack so it would cost 7.5p a gram versus my butter a 8p a gram

So neatly that they are the same per gram.
"Though if Faceless were posh he could get the Lurpak for £3.75 a pack so it would cost 7.5p a gram versus my butter a 8p a gram"
What are you comparing here?
I must have missed the point of Sheep's post.
<edit>Even though they are: "This is what makes Sheep the best goddamn accountant in the whole of the West Midlands."

It's not only about price per gram - there are also ethical considerations. For instance, when you buy Country Life you are paying a premium directly into the pockets of notorious Big Butter shill John Lydon. With Lurpak on the other hand, the royalties go to a talented butter man who can play Flight of the Bumblebee on a tiny trombone.
If it comes to margarine I would probably choose Vitalite, mainly down to memories of the Vitalite in a round tub. Good memories on the whole. I've no hard feelings.

Aye, a little village near Pickering. The beach is not too far away and they have a farm on site for the kids.
Having a brief look under the lid I find that BabyfarkmcGeezak takes his parenting responsibilities very seriously; taking the opportunity to introduce his offspring to both working life and the natural world by hiring them out as muckers out while sunning himself, reading a book (no doubt supping mint juleps) before herding the youngsters down to the beach to clean in the surf prior to bedding them down in the barn.
