So.....
Games: BOTW.
Hangover: day 2. Headache and nausea have gone. Now I'm just knackered. Or maybe this is just what 40 feels like.

That's exactly what 40 feels like. Just wait for the bad back now...

Morning all.
TVblog: Great thing about watching the triathlon is watching life suddenly catching up with them as they get over the finish line. BLEURGH!
Also watched some Futurama.
OTTM: I’m now off work for two weeks. Though this week is childcare, and next week is a few days down Rye way. Got the boy’s friend coming over this morning, so I expect to be completely knackered by lunchtime.

So..... Games: BOTW. Hangover: day 2. Headache and nausea have gone. Now I'm just knackered. Or maybe this is just what 40 feels like. The older you get, the longer it takes you to recover. By 40 you've learned that mixing drink types leads to an insanely painful hangover. And that experiments with pills are more dangerous than Russian roulette. (Actually you should have learned that by 21.) By 50 you've learned that bad booze is worse than no booze and to never go clubbing. (Besides potential bankruptcy if you buy a round, they sell pre-mixed hangovers called cocktails*) By 60 you've learned to avoid drinking late at night in pubs. By 70 you're fucking lucky if you are still allowed to drink booze. Is this tenthenemy going for it? *By the age of 50, the only cocktail I would drink, is the first I ever drank: 50/50 Martini Recipe: - 1 part Gilbey's London Dry Gin (insanely expensive - local connection! Family run resto in Amersham) or Bombay Sapphire
- 1 part dry vermouth (such as Noilly Prat)
- Lemon twist, to garnish (optional)
The Chumbles twist: ice cubes in thermos for 10m, pour ice into tall tumblers, mix cocktail and pour into thermos. Pour ice out of glasses, dry them. Glasses in fridge. 1 is habit forming; 2 is Hobbit forming; 3 is hobo forming

Morning all,
ME3, Despite the cut-scenes and Shepherd's Weinstien approach to staff management I'm really enjoying it. Got a bit cut up about one former crew member not making it but not seeing the negativity ME3 apparently has.

Hi
It's hot again.
And windy. But that was my Indian feast. Particularly the chick peas.
Last night, after running out of beer, I tried a glass of the PMs ready mixed, Tesco delivered, Sangria. Oh my. Delicious. She immediately saw that I like it and wrestled it off me with a clear warning I would be murdered in my sleep if I touched another drop.
So I watched some Olympics, then fell asleep.
No games.
Cool story, innit bruv.

Mass Effect 3 It was the ending that provoked a lot of ire. It was really badly done. Really badly. I think they redid it so that it wasn't so bad. I only played the unpatched version.
The rest of the game was ok.

I watched the Director's cut of Justice League, was actually pretty good. There was glaring plot hole that neither nor the internet are happy about.

I loved ME3 and didn't really get the fuss about the ending. Was it not along the lines that the games give you loads of choices, so why don't you have loads of choice about how it ends? It seemed an unrealistic expectation.

Watched Suicide Squad, not the extended version, basically a series of music videos, not terrible and not good, a big meh. 4*

Rolling
The original ending was a 5 minute slap in the face to the idea of meaningful choices. It was jarringly badly done. Like it had been tacked on by the work experience boy in 2 minutes at the end of a week just to get something out. It needed to be presented better. I don't think the idea was fundamentally flawed, but the presentation was.

Had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, then went for a walk with a friend, during which we had three cans of beer and two can of pre-mix G&T each, then had some more wine when I got home. Feel mostly fine this morning, though I didn't bother rolling into work until 10am, to be fair.
We started the habit of walking in the evening as part of our government mandated daily exercise during lockdown while the pubs were shut, and staying hydrated by drinking copious amounts of Brew Dog and other wank craft ales.
Games: a few games of Fortnite, culminating in a brilliant Duos win for me. I think Sheep had bled out before the medal ceremony.

Suicide Squad remains one of the few films I’ve given up with halfway through. Absolute bollocks. Jared Leto’s joker was appalling.
That being said, I am looking forward to Suicide Squad 2. James Gunn looks like he’s taken exactly the right approach to it, just pure silliness.

I'd agree about bad/cheap booze. The rest of the comments. Hmm. Depends on the pills. If mdma was manufactured and sold legally I'd take my chances with 120mg of that over 8 pints and shots any night.
As for clubbing... Scenes such as Slo-Mo and nights like ALFOS were designed for the older clubber. Folk who still want to go out, have experience of it and aren't quite ready to give it up.

Choice is an illusion. The kids just need to get on board with that and suck it up. All I need is a choice of which space box to crouch behind and I'm happy as Larry.

Co-op have started selling Sipsmith G&T cans. Even better than M&S, and infinitely better than the shit Gordon's cans.
