On Sunday I ran 9,200 metres then went to Brighton to see a man called Simon from Norwich. It was a good day - A great day. I careened home and got hiccups.

I watched some of the Olympics.
I'm enraged the live rights have been sold by The International Olympics Committee to Discovery Plus. Do they hate Britain?
I don't know ... I don't mind really. I haven't got it in me to stay up and watch events all through the night. And it's not the same without the crowds. It's just not the same.

Still eating my way through a mildly out-of-date cheese variety box for lunch. Once more Branston pickle has been employed.
This morning I had a knock on the door from a bloke who handed over one of these 'fresh flowers in a parcel' packages where you need to give CPR to every single flower to revive the poor things. This was completely unexpected as there's not been any occasion to send flowers. Took a look at the address, called the bloke back and pointed out that it was the correct house number but the wrong road. He wasn't too bothered by this but took it back.
Why flowers? If he'd brought me a PS5 I wouldn't have argued.

Do you hate Britain? No. Not in the least, but I do despise the fatuous jingoism that most of the vampiric me-dja adopt. How is Simon of Norwich? He has been absent from the galaxies of NP2 and the boards of Diplomacy ... On other matters: back to the interminable surgery calling - remember that swab the nurse took last Tuesday? I have not been able to get onto the telephone queue (30 callers capacity) since last Friday midday |
