It is parky out. And inside overnight - the wind drove Mr Frost into the front of Chumbles Mansions, turning my laundry into chilly things like cardboard replicas. Brrr Colder here than in Edinburgh! Cricket: I really hope that we can get Justin Langer as Coach. However, the ECB still needs an overhaul and Harrison isn't the man for the job. |

I watched Spiderman Homecoming last night. Then the last forty minutes of Evil Dead II, then the first twenty minutes of a Peter Fonda / Nancy Sinatra vehicle called ‘Wild Angels’.
That Spiderman film. I don’t want to bang on about it but …
I wish I didn’t have to watch the second before having to watch the third. Maybe I should just not watch the second and the third.

Evening.
Bit hungover. Drunkbuddy came round with backpack clanking with 2 bottles of wine, and randomly, 6 bottles of curry sauce.
He was commiserating his failure to give up the fags for Stoptemberuary or whatever it is, so the 3 of us destroyed a beef casserole with soft and crispy dumplings, mash, and a litre of vodka, while watching From Dusk til Dawn and throwing logs into the forest burner.
I think a large bag of extra hot Bombay mix may have been involved at some point. Oof.
Coffee and Rennies for breakfast. Lunch might involve leftover dumplings. Possibly curry sauce.

Slight hangover too.
Have kicked playing dolls up the park till after breakfast... So I'm nursing a coffee. We watched something on TV but I can't remember what. First two episodes. Short term memory loss anyone? Oh yeah, Pam and Tommy. Enjoyable romp.

Wow I’d forgotten what an absolute belter of an album ‘Rid of me’ by PJ Harvey is. I like it a lot but I always feel aware, when I listen to it now, of how Polly Harvey is singing in an American accent. I’m not being anti-American. It would also be weird if she was singing in a Jamaican accent or a Scottish accent. I don’t know. Or a Welsh accent? Maybe I am being anti-American? I hope not. Maybe I am? I hope not... If Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter began singing in a cockney accent I would also think that was weird. |

It just sounds a bit inauthentic, to be singing in an accent you don’t usually speak in. It’s like doing an impression. Sort of like Joe Longthorne.

Spent an hour trying to get pictures of my meters in various poses whilst they seductively flashed their numbers at me before mashing my fat fingers over my phone transferring the barely legible ones to my email app and sending it to my email account. And 15m deleting the shots made useless because the camera shook with my emotions* (my hands actually, not the phone), as well as the various pictures of the floor, ceiling and kneecap. *Why the F didn't I put more clothes on? AAAARRGGGHHH It's in panoramic mode... Eventually they arrived in my inbox, whereupon I downloaded one of them to my meter reading folder, but could not download the remaining ... Repeated attempts made me realise a little tab had flashed open and disappeared in less than a second. NOT the usual BOING we're not letting you download multiple images from the same source = another 15m up the wazoo. I very nearly gave up, but I persevere and eventually log in to my Smell Energy account . They didn't want my hard won pictures.... |
