We went out for a meal. It was nice for about an hour then the atmosphere soured. Just a little bit. Enough.
To be honest - my sister: I think she hates me. She now seems to have a beef with the pm and me choosing to stay in a self-catering apartment rather than with her and my dad. The fact that staying with her and my dad means staying in a single room filled with her junk doesn’t seem to register. She complains about us talking at night, complains about us having the light on in the next room, complains about us talking through films (this happened once and she maybe had a point).
There’s no food in the house, I can’t walk about in my pants.
I just want to live.

lazybonesBut in all seriousness, that doesn’t sound good. I imagine it weighs on your mind quite a bit. My partner had a not dissimilar issue with her sister, where everything she talked about was instantly dismissed. It took a half an hour chat between the two of them to fix things, and everything’s been right as rain since. She just needed to be made aware of how her tone was affecting her sister.

We watched the penultimate episode of The Outlaws and when the pm went to bed I shoved on Get Back. Stayed up too late and the sunlight this morning meant I couldn't get back to sleep.

Being the youngest, I had similar issues with my brother who felt empowered to tell me how I should live my life. Bruv had an immense ego and was so inflicted with OCD that his house looked like a show home. All the time - my poor old Mum used to worry about it "It's not natural, is it? It doesn't feel like a home - it's as though its soul has been sucked out" Bruv was hyper intelligent, very successful and died a millionaire - he was very generous to those who obeyed his advice. When I was thirty I had had enough and told him I wasn't subject to King Bruv's dictats. He continued to issue ukases... and I lived my own life. LB, she doesn't have the right to tell you how to live your life, and most of all she has no business rudely telling your partner how to do so. This will carry on until you tell sis' to stop. |
