PC core at 45c, but the monitor fans have gone into overdrive, so it's kit off and silent running (31c in the sweatbox). See you later.

My local GP surgery has messaged me. It asks if I want to be tested for HIV, Hep B, Hep C and Syphilis. They are luring me in with a free choccy bar and a £5 voucher.
I'm in.
(They're going to stab me, aren't they, I can smell a trap)

Does anyone know much about heroin addiction in the 1980s? It sounds like there was a big boom at the start of the decade. I read somewhere that this was down to the Iranian revolution in 1979. But I'm not sure why that would be. This book I'm reading describes people in Liverpool at the start of the boom, smoking it in pubs, having a nice time. Apparently not many people really knew what the dangers were. It's mad. The breakdown of Afghanistan leading to the Soviet invasion in 1979 upped the number of farmers there growing opium to make a living. The Iranians cracked down on drugs after the revolution there. So there was a big increase in supply and one of the main markets was largely closed. Though I think the Iranians partly ignored being used as a transit route. They needed cash and so long as the local drugs problem was under control they were less bothered. Plus smuggling drugs to Europe was more and more profitable due to the high prices achievable compared to Iran.

Morning bare all downward dogs!
Doesn't really seem that hot today, might need to turn the heating on later.
I'm off the trains for the next two weeks - TB. Been on that playstation doing the grand turismo. The cafe nonsense really is quite annoying.
Now I'm going to get in on the wash train - bed sheets then towels, with a flap of bounce and an extra cap of dettol for the towels.

We’ve had confirmation that the fault has been fixed! I’m definitely coming back today.
Potentially.
Maybe.
Don’t want to anger Zeus.
We did manage to snag extra refreshment/meal vouchers though. So free frappes!

I’d rather you didn’t. I’ve only got one more clean pair of pants. And I have a new laptop currently waiting for me in my local post office.

I just hope scubar has enough Drachma to last the extra days. It’s the olive wood I’m struggling to find. I’m downloading AC:Odyssey and Total War Troy as the first games on my new laptop.

So we booked a central heating back boiler deinstall and a combi-boiler installation for the two hottest days on record?
Clever.
