Morning
28C according to thermograph chez gong.
Me and dogs are huddled round the fan. Triple flatulence.
In other shite news... PMs eldest grand-daughter was taken into hospital a couple of days ago for observation as she'd been feeling wobbly and discombobulated. Thought it was stress related due to exams/boyfriend/hormones etc, but the test results have confirmed she has MS. Parents now have the job of explaining it all to her. Poor sod is only 15.

That's a hard one at 15. The folk I know with it were all diagnosed early 30s. Sorry to hear that. Poor thing.

That's rough, gongfarmer. There's nothing worse than desperately wanting to help knowing that there isn't much you can do except help with the mundane.

Gongfarmer That is pretty rough. The treatments are getting much better. Also according to wikipedia women and those diagnosed earlier in life generally do better. It might not be great, but you probably want any positives at the moment.

Ach, that’s terrible. Poor girl. I friend of mine was diagnosed with MS in his thirties. Since then, he’s completely cut alcohol and is now a vegetarian/almost-vegan. He hasn’t suffered from any further attacks since. The doctors have told him that his scans should show continuing degradation, but they’re not. An alternative is to go to Russia for stem-cell treatment like a colleague did. Wiped out her savings, but she’s almost completely free of symptoms.

Been building part of a Lego friends tree house kit the child got at her birthday. The wheelchair lift is very ingenious. Those clever Danish fuckers.

E:D Odyssey update. Yesterday I thought I'd start a run to Deciat to visit Felicity Farseer the engineer, after setting the coordinates I checked the jump number for the range (138 light years), 23 jumps! So I set off from 21:00 hrs and with a couple of breaks arrived after 2.5 hours, not too bad you might think - (some of the jumps were only 2 Ly). Except I didn't have any Meta Alloys and the only place that sells MA's is in the Maia system at Darnielle's Progress - 383 light years away or 65 jumps! I stopped at around 5 am with 14 left to do.
Pro's: The game is great fun if you like that kind of thing, the usability is MSMD (monkey see monkey do) with a gamepad/controller and is far better than Star Citizen. Con's: It's a mental drain when you have to keep putting in the coordinates on long runs if you want to shorten the jump count, the graphics are not as good as Star Citizen.
Moneywise you don't have to pay for ARX (in game credit) on ED you can earn it.
More tea vicar?

That really sucks Gong. Really hard news. Nice gazumping of Muffrat's bad news though, well finessed. Gah.... let's not get into a pets vs ill kids pissing contest. Both are equally crap. She's being sent to Addenbrookes for more tests so PM has gone to see her before she goes. Anyhoo.... about these gamez. Ozymandias Kane, what ship are you using if you're only getting 7LY jumps? If you're doing collection runs for Farseer then isnt it worth buying something like an AspX and fitting it out with cargo racks and the best FSD you can afford just for that purpose? You should be able to get 40+ LY jumps easily, and can just sell it later to get the cash back, or mothball the parts. If you're into Neutron jumping you would triple the range anyway (for a slight risk). 65 jumps for 383 LY is doing things the long way.

Sitting in the shade outside of a pub with a bottle of Peroni, looking at the sea.
The sea doesn't seem to do much, not sure what all the fuss is about.

It's too hot.
I've had 2 cold showers already.
Bad news chat? I was asked by the PM what I wanted for lunch. I said Tuna/mayo sandwich please. I was served a tuna/mayo WRAP. I'm Will Smith angry right now.
I assume Kane is having a full carvery with all the trimmings to go with his boiling hot coffee.
