I am huddled for warmth with 1000 or so fans at Cheltenham.

Downstairs still 33.5 so cranked all doors and windows open now. Was recorded at over 39 in my neck of the woods today by the weather lads. It's been bloody awful. Fingers crossed for a return to mid 20s tomorrow. Some rain would be nice too.

I stepped out briefly at 4. Intense. It's dropped off a bit now and there is a nice breeze.

27.7 highest untIl had to open doors a lot. PM has torn her calf so there go any plans we had for the summer with learning to walk again, wonder if her or 7month old will be walking best by the end of the summer?
Drug chat, best painkillers for short term kick and best for long term use?

There was an ambulance in our cul-de a couple of weeks ago. Turns out our neighbour had a week or so before that cut through her lawnmower cable. Her brother rewired it for her. Badly. She went to cut the grass and got a shock. Was holding onto the thing being electrocuted for 15 mins. Her teenage daughter was upstairs, headphones on, oblivious. Their dug went up and got her. Lucky to be alive. Got a hole in her hand where the burn is. FFS. Mains leccy for 15 minutes? Jeebus! That's some seriously bad rewiring not to trip an RCD or blow a fuse. I guess the muscles in their hand contracted around the impromptu electrode, and they were (relatively) lucky to be earthed by the same limb, not, for example, by their opposite foot. Cos Dr Shenguin has electrical qualifications as well, that's why. OTTM: "Electrocution" is a portmanteau of "electricity" and "execution". It formally means death by electric shock, though commonly is used to mean an electric shock that does not result is death.

The word for electrocution by AC leccy should be Teslacution.

Was that it? Bit disappointing tbh.
Heavy cloud though. More to come? Hopefully. The air is oppresive still.

31c outside; 31c inside, but as there are flying ants about. In order to get through this I'm getting off the bed, drinking half a litre, putting a very cool wet flannel over reachable arts. I'm switching the PC and monitor off shortly - they're OK, but I have to cut down on any heart coming in to the house.

Keza gave the cat game (Stray) a 5* review and it's free if you have the posho version of ps+. If it wasn't still 31° in the room my PS5 is in I'd give it a try right now. Instead I'm in the garden getting munched on by bugs. You heard.

Ah shit - neighbour's just contacted wife through Facebook to tell us the eldest cat has been run over. RIP Enid. Gone too soon, poor thing Daughters will be absolutely gutted. Here in Wales for four more days too, won't let them know just yet I think. Some fairly grim remote Admin to try and sort out this morning, or potentially a five hour round trip back home. Arse. This is bad news. Commiserations.

Morning 28C according to thermograph chez gong. Me and dogs are huddled round the fan. Triple flatulence. In other shite news... PMs eldest grand-daughter was taken into hospital a couple of days ago for observation as she'd been feeling wobbly and discombobulated. Thought it was stress related due to exams/boyfriend/hormones etc, but the test results have confirmed she has MS. Parents now have the job of explaining it all to her. Poor sod is only 15. This is also bad news. Ah man.
