Back from the gym. I got a sweat on, which according to the hot drinks brigade should have cooled me right down. Surprisingly enough it didn't. Proof What exercise did you do to raise your core temperature?

Riddle me this ...
My steaming hot cup of tea lost temperature because I went on a video call with someone from work and forgot about it.
When I drank the last glug three minutes ago it was cold. The laws of thermodynamics (maybe?) render it impossible to have dropped beneath the ambient temperature of the room. So the room must also be cold - compared to ... my internal body temperature.
So it's not a riddle. But heatwave - Pshaw!
Brexit now.

The true test of a heatwave will be when I make a cup of tea - go to drink it half an hour later - and give myself a third degree burn.

For me, the clincher is that scene in Ice Cold in Alex where John Mills staggers into Costa after days lost in the desert and downs a nice refreshing Flat White.

All curtains / blinds windows shut, fan on worked well until I opened the front door to take in a delivery from Amazon, whereupon Sammy Superheated Air mugged me on the way in and raised the interior temperature to 34c (it's 37c outside).
I'm shutting down ... my brain's gone

Couscous with roasted veg and vaccum packed beetroot. Plenty of finely chopped coriander in it and lemon juice/olive oil. Also made potato salad with tomato, cucumber & tuna.
Not vaccine or cholera as my phone tried to autocorrect it to.
Quite tired.

My sympathies muffrat and gongfarmer. Bad news indeed. In other news as outside temperatures hit all time records our British Gas engineers were running the central heating to test the new combi-boiler. Hot. Hot. Hot. The guy who was demonstrating the Hive controller had to put it in the fridge for half an hour as the ambient temperature was 36 and the controller won't set a room temp target above 32.

There was an ambulance in our cul-de a couple of weeks ago. Turns out our neighbour had a week or so before that cut through her lawnmower cable. Her brother rewired it for her. Badly.
She went to cut the grass and got a shock. Was holding onto the thing being electrocuted for 15 mins. Her teenage daughter was upstairs, headphones on, oblivious. Their dug went up and got her. Lucky to be alive. Got a hole in her hand where the burn is. FFS.

Did anyone else think that Crank's lawnmower electrocution story contained unnecessary disapproval of the teenage daughter?
